Leather wrap on steering peels away..

same here, in less than two months after i brought it home. Texas summers are killer. Since i have the slate grey wheel, it was easy to find one on ebay. I replaced the wheel only, the cruise and radio control switches are on separate plastic peices that you can reuse. The biggest problem is...

    losing the faith

i was talked out of a manual by my dad (right now as my right arm sits in a soft cast, can't argue with his logic). At first i wasn't happy with my bone stock kj, but i found half the fun of owning one is all the things that can be done to and then with it. After all i've put into my kj at...

    losing the faith

Didn't know it was even possible...would love to switch to a 6 spd manual, if the price wasn't outrageous.

Show your front plates! (for those of us w/out state plates)

Same thing for me, bought my jeep in TX, FL requires only rear plates. I'm going to fill in the holes with something to be determined, then paint my fender flares and bumpers black. Pictures to follow.

Keep or Remove the rear gate badging?

Dealership badges have to go. On a black KJ, definately debadge, the debadged black ones around here look sharp. Otherwise leave them on. As parts begin to damage/fade i've thought about replacing the "Liberty" door molding with the Cherokee molding on my '05. Then replace the rear bumper...

    Tire pressure sensor magnet

i've used my old stock door speakers to retrain the sensors, and they aren't really that strong. The part number for the trainer is 52109664AA and the msrp is around $15.

    Mythbusters

or it could be that the acetone acts like a fuel injector cleaner and gives an increase to those that haven't been using an additve every couple months.

    EVIC Parts List

there is one other thing i forgot, may not apply to an '04. I needed to get the retainer that goes inside the headliner (part #5072348AA). It was only about 25 dollars from the dealer. Its easy to see if you have one, just remove your current dome light to see if the black plastic retainer...

    EVIC Parts List

If you go the ebay route, #1 and #2 usually come together, and a lot of times so does #4. Having the connector that goes into the evic is very helpful, but i've read where people have modified a floppy drive power connector as a substitute. What year is your KJ? The temperature sensor was...

    JBA Headers for Liberty

I'd be interested in a group buy...but i have a bad feeling that BoeserBlick is right. I hope there is enough interest/demand that they do someday soon go into production.[/i]

    Temperature sensor acting erratically.

instructions and pics half way down the page here: http://theblakbox.com/lost/evic/ If you are having problems when you initially start using the car, that's kind of normal. I don't know where i read it, but the thermometer isn't always accurate until you've driven 10 to 15 minutes. Now...

    question about cd changer.....

I thought it was just #9, there is an old post on ju that no longer has the pics, but somebody else did the same thing we did and he said he only needed to fab up the one brace. Another guy on the forum sent him the faceplate and template and he was set. think you may have pm'ed me this, but...

    question about cd changer.....

pm sent and a big thanks. I'm sorry you went thru the same process (scary how you named both ebay merchants i was referring to), but your post is a huge help. I was all ready to make a bracket and faceplate based on what i found when i removed the trim and pictures i've saved off the web...

    Fog light wiring help needed

thanks guys for the help, turns out once i added the relay and ran the switch wire to the output of the micro relay, all is working. Installation looks stock (as long as you don't open up any access panels). The price of the rocky mountain edition lights for some reason has dropped from 185...

    question about cd changer.....

at least i can help somebody avoid the same mistakes i've made.....we have the same setup going, rb1, satellite radio and want a changer because we'd like to use the nav and listen to cds at the same time. I also thought of the cubby hole changers, there doesn't seem to be one for the KJ for...

    Fog light wiring help needed

Very true...i've found that half the fun of the KJ is modifying it. I finish one project and look for something to do next. I could probably get more done if i didn't do everything the hard way, but what would be the challenge in that.

    Fog light wiring help needed

Lights, harness, relay and fuse on the harness tested ok when i had everything set up as in the diagram. Ran the 12V wire to the 20A fuse in the fusebox flipped the switch and on came the lights. When i took the switch 12V source out of the loop and spliced the 85 wire directly into the...
