245/75R16 Aggressive AT's, or Mild MT

Thanks for the suggestion, but those are all load C or E rated tires. Not looking to haul around a 50# tire...lol. I decided to bite the bullet and get tires from a dealer out near my cousin. (4) 265/75 R16 Wildcountry XTX Sport tires for $570 installed, tax, out the door. Multi-Mile -...

    02 lib 1.5" lift - 245/75-16 tires???

Just an FYI...I saw 245/75R16's on an unlifted Libby yesterday. Those tires looked way smaller in person than I thought they would. I suppose there might be rubbing issues from running a bigger tire, but after seeing that Jeep, I decided to go up to 265/75's...they were only about $30 more for...

    Goodyear MT-R & Moabs - $550

FYI, found this on CL. They're 245/75R16 Goodyear MT-R's on Moab rims. Stopped by and checked them out. Not a bad deal, but two of the tires will need replaced soon. I didn't want to fork out the cash for two more MT-R's (which they've changed the style anyways). 3 of the tires are solid...

    3 02/03 Lib's Parting Out

Do you have a driver's door power door lock assembly? Also, if you have another hitch, I'd be interested. Shipping would be to 43013.

Oil Changes - I know this is a stupid thing to say

Mine might get about 1/2-1 qt low after 5K miles. I do my changes every 5K miles anyway, so I just keep an eye on it until I'm ready to change it. I'm not sure about the 3.7, but we had a Chrysler 3.8 that would drink oil like crazy. It would go through 1qt every 800-1000 miles. Dealer never...

HOW TO: 42RLE Transgo Shift Kit Install

I didn't pull the exhaust, just the driveshaft, and that was only so I was able to remove the gear selector lever from the gear shaft. However, lowering the transmission x-member probably would work out better for getting to the electrical connection on the passenger side. That was still a...

HOW TO: 42RLE Transgo Shift Kit Install

Sorry about the pics...I changed the profile I share pics under, so it killed the links. I'll see about getting them updated. As far as was this worth it? I don't know. It was definitely not as good an upgrade in other transmissions I've added this kit to. You could really feel a...

Long time since I've posted here...tranny problem in `05 Liberty

not sure about the 42rle, but the 41te (a similar a604 derivative) is known to have issues with the solenoid pack going bad. there are mini screens on them to catch particles, and they can plug after time. at first i figured the 42rle might use a similar solenoid pack, but unfortunately it...

    Powertrax - 2 slotted spacers & drivers

I loved my Powertrax no-slip I had in my Ranger. I am SO wanting to put a locker in my Jeep. Just don't have the funds or the need presently, as it has turned into my recreational vehicle. I bought a Fiesta to replace it as my DD due to the horrible gas mileage these things get. I didn't...

    Are my tires too small?

wow...those tires look tiny when lifted like that. guess i'm definitely going with 245/75's. :)

    E load tires

Thanks. That's pretty much what I figured.

    E load tires

I have a question about E load tires. Seems like a lot of the private label brands I can find only make an E load tire in the size I want (245/75R16). I was staying away, from the perspective that the tires weigh a ton...plus with the extra load rating, I figured the KJ would ride like crap...

rust up around third brake light area

Mine started doing the same thing. I used some silicone to help hold the tailight in place, as well as help seal it. If it's really bad, to the point where it won't even hold the plastic screw base, you could either look for a larger screw base (maybe like the ones for license plates), or...

rust up around third brake light area

I don't have a KK, but had real bad rust on my KJ. Apparently the weatherstripping around the taillight leaked, allowing water to accumulate in the seam weld. It was pretty bad. I dug out the worst part of the rusted metal, then ground and cut out anything else that was loose. Then I...

    OTIS/EVIC bulbs???

I don't recall now where I bought mine, or if in fact I bought these bulbs. I do remember however, just reusing the sockets that my burned out EVIC bulbs were in. You can pop the wire leads out, remove the bad bulb, and insert the good bulb, and then reseat the wire leads. Worked like a charm.

    Almost, but not quite

Oh, and another interesting point. My Hemi only got about 12 MPG, empty, mostly highway. I did put bigger tires on it, but other than that, it was stock. So to "only" get 18 MPG isn't much to be ashamed of. My KJ is currently hitting the 16.5 MPG mark, so a fullsize pickup with more HP and...

    Almost, but not quite

Well, since I've never driven one, I can't really say, but "one guy's" opinion is just that, one opinion. I'm not knocking it, just not educated enough on the subject to know whether it has substance or not. I've learned that what works for one person, may not work for another. Also...
