What did you do to your jeep today?

and this is off topic but it is truly disgusting how we can't rely on any manufacturers to sell quality, no modification, or get the consumer just past the warranty, junk. How buying American is near impossible. Pathetic. I almost get excited when I see Made in Mexico or Brazil as opposed to...

What did you do to your jeep today?

yep tri-link for me as well this coming weekend. Annoying squeek from the rear, and a clunk over bumps, that BJ is sloppy, hope it lasts through the week.

What did you do to your jeep today?

so I wasn't the only one having to machine the block. I had to do both of mine from Advanced. They seem to be of good quality but to ensure no threading issues with the banjo bolt, if you can't easily hand thread it, grind the block down a little. I really had to tighted it down to crush the...

    cut down terraflex bumpstops?

yep, my pic was with it on the ground, I'll do some more testing now that I have notched it. I'll steal some chalk from my kids and see if there is any further contact. My next issue is an axle seal and rear upper control arm bushings and BJ. The fun we have keeping our rides going...

    2.5 lift

I was thinking about this, if you currently have an open dif, (one wheel wonder) in the back, I would put your money toward a either factory limited slip (used) or a Detroit True Trac. Lifting and tires is great but first concern is having at least 3 tires pushing you over the terrain. Most...

Crown axle seals, do they suck?

I was wonder about that tjkj, the seal is definitely leaking at the axle shaft. I wiped everything dry last night and with a Q tip today, only thing wet is the shaft and where it wept down again. Have your jobs been leaking even using a Mopar seal? Sounds like my only option is to have Napa...

Crown axle seals, do they suck?

yeah I did a couple of nicks in the seat when I took the original out but I spread some Form-a-gasket on the seat and the surface of the seal. Then greased the axle and seal, and inserted carefully.

    cut down terraflex bumpstops?

nope, just my "husky" self :). Maybe a lot of weight is shifting forward since the back end is still a little high. I won't worry about it now that its notched. Rear upper control arm ball joint is bad, so now I gotta decide on doing the bushings and ball joint or just buy the whole assy...

Crown axle seals, do they suck?

Left side axle seal leaking again. This is the second one now. New CV axles in perfect condition so I don't know why its leaking again. 2 in a month. Right side is fine which was also replaced last month with CV axle. Does Crown brand suck?

So how do you fix the hvac blend door problem? Difficult?

I'm sure you could try to flush it but you would need to get all the crap out of there that you knocked loose. perhaps flushing both ways the shop vac out the remaining water. You might be creating a leak though, which means replacement, or buy good Alpinestars Gloves!

    2.5 lift

yep, tons of info on this forum to research and go to jeepin by al's website, Marlin owns that company and has everything you need to lift the KJ. There is also a lift called frankenlift, many use that one also. There are also some places to stay away from. This site will warn you of those...

    cut down terraflex bumpstops?

Ok I am at 21.75". And the distance between bumpstop and tip of grease fitting is 2.5". Yes the pic is upside down. That really would have been a messed up install job. Lol

    cut down terraflex bumpstops?

I bought them preassembled from Marlin. I know what you mean about Gabriel shocks! The ones in my kit were OME. I will notch them this weekend and also measure the center to fender lip again.

    cut down terraflex bumpstops?

it's when it use the brakes, nose natural dives, and I hit a bump as small as a reflector. I know it is hitting because I wipe the bumpstop clean, go drive it for the day, then find a small glob of grease where the grease fitting on the A arm has made contact with the bumpstop. I think I will...
