127K. 62K of no lift, 65K having a cheap Daystar lift, with no Y link extensions. The reason I knew it was bad after installing the TM econo lift and extensions last month, was how severe the unbinded slop was in the BJ. Up and down slop specifically in the BJ. Bushings were fairly...
Wellll...... After further investigation, there is no contact. I do have a strange single knock when using brakes and hit a bump on left front. I may have a bad zerk fitting that oozes and shoots a bit of grease up on the bumpstop. This is why I thought I had contact. I have check brake...
Engine skid plate bolts all tight? I Had a loose one for some reason and it would make a pop noise in same scenario you are having. Do you know the condition of your intermediate shaft? How old are the CV axles?
I think what Tom is saying is- while you have excellent up and down travel, the twisting motion is limited to the flex of the bushings. Some type of swivel in the rods would allow limitless twist. You did excellent work by the way.
Went good. The c clamp press was useful for the bushings. Vise was too small for ball joint so I resorted to blocks of wood and a BFH. Wire brushed sanded and painted the boomerang. Cleaned the holes real good to aid the install of the BJ and bushings. Why go to all this trouble you ask...
Today I removed the rear UCA, pressed and beat out the bushings and ball joint. Wire brushed the rust, installed new parts. Painted and reinstalled. Also cleaned the dust off the max air door screen and installed silverstar reverse lights, cleaned my wheels and tires and topped off front...
As suspected mine was choked up with dust. Started with a shark vac. Then an air gun with some hose attached and the a final blowout of everything. Wiped down anything with dust on it in there. Blows like new.
I received my parts today and found out that ball joint head is bigger than my spacers in my C clamp press kit. Any home MacGuiver ideas? Going to a shop on my bicycle is an option if needed. Just trying to save some cash if possible.
Sounds good. I checked my local one and their hours are good. I can go before or after work. In the land of PT Cruisers here they may have to order it but we will see!
I want to buy a front axle seal from Mopar this time, for when I again pull the left CV to replace the seal. This time replacing with another reman Napa CV axle or maybe new. Can anyone recommend a Mopar dealer online? Seal part # 5066-066AA
