Look at the back of the rim. It should say the backspacing, at least Jeep puts it on most of their wheels. My 2003 limited aluminum wheels are 5.5"
Also remember backspacing is the distance from the back edge of a wheel rim to the back of the center section. Therefore offset is effected by...
I am on my 3rd windshield. Got each of them replaced for about 150-160 dollars, both with quality auto glass. PPG and Pilkington. Not worth the hassle of dealing with the insurance and having a claim on your record for 150 dollars.
First time I was following a semi too close. I should...
Only, the up stream o2 sensors are important. The down stream o2 sensor just tell the computer if the CATs are working properly. Used as self emission check. You could pull them out and your Jeep would run fine. They don't control the fuel system at all, only the up steam senors do.
I'd assuming it's the front diff since you wouldn't need to pull a skid to see the rear. A general rule with leaking seals is if you don't see alot spots on the ground it is fine. All seals will start to leak after a while, but usually it takes quite a while if ever before they leak so bad...
Honestly it sounds like a wheel balance issue for the wobble.
The grinding could very will be just normal noise when the front axle is engaged in 4wd. Every Jeep I've owned made a little more noise from the front when engaged in 4wd
I'm not sure about the brake fluid. However, brake fluid...
We are having a KJ run out to Haspin Acres in Laurel, IN.
It's only about 60 miles from Cincinnati or Indianapolis. I know some of you are close! Anyone is welcome to attend. Just ensure you have recovery points and comfortable with your level of armor. Finally, anyone is more than...
I feel you pain man. Jeep does put some crapy ball joints on the Liberty and they wouldn't stand by it half the time either. I hope that letter does something.
The ball joints are known to be failure prone and they keep putting the same crappy parts back on. There are much better...
Well it is usually more like late June to early July when most of the snow is gone and the trails are cleared. However, it really depends on how much snow they had over the winter. Last summer I know it is late July before most of the snow was gone and all the trails where open.
I'd give a...
Try some ceramic pads and shoes. Supposedly they are suppose to be quieter than the metallic pads and shoes, without showing brake dust either and have just as good stopping power. Metallic pads are notoriously noisy. The more metallic the better they stop, but are noisier. Just listen to a...
Try getting them really tight. The bush are just a tad too small. So if you crank them down they will work fine with no rattles. My RSXs rattled when I first put them on. Then I just snugged them up really good and no more rattling.
There is the factory trac-loc which is a limited slip, but from what I have heard it is not the greatest.
A couple good options are
Detriot Tru-Trac: gear drive limited slip, much more effect than the factory one and no clutches to wear out or special oil needed. 350-400 dollars...
I got a very similar answer from an transmission guy that I trust and has been rebuilding trannys for probably 20 years. So I'm sure he is correct. However, I would just probably go with the ATF 4 for piece of mind.
There always seems to be two lines on this issue anyways. About of half the...
I changed mine at 25K and they where well worn out. I can't image changing them at 60k.
I used NGK plugs which are the stock factory plugs. Two dollars a pieces and pretty easy to change.
