Exactly. The different top-plate lowers the mounting point for the strut piston, increasing the length of the strut assembly. See the picture below. This is actually a picture of a frankenlift strut assembly, that incorporates a daystar 1.5" spacer, daystar top plate, and other hardware.- Eddo

No, its actually quite different. A in-strut spacer does NOT lengthen the strut assembly in any way. Just think about it how droop is affect. The strut is what limits droop, if you put an extension on the bottom (or spacer on the top) it increase the strut assembly's effective length. The...- Eddo

A strut extension or OTT spacer that is only about 1/4-1/2" will not cause the problems. It does not lengthen the strut assembly enough to make to cause problems. So using a small OTT spacer and an in-strut spacer will not cause the problems. An in-strut spacer does not length the strut...- Eddo

Are you sure the spacer went inside the strut assembly? According to their website and install instructions, it is listed as a billet aluminum strut extension. From the install instructions it looks like it is a spacer/extension that slip on the bottom of the strut...- Eddo

Honestly if it was 10hp I don't think it would be bad. A recent issue of 4-wheel drive and sport utility magazine installed a cold intake and Magnaflow cat-back on a KJ. The ran before and after dyno tests and only netted extra 3 Hp.- Eddo

New Frankenlift Need Wheels To Complement
245/75R16 is what most people run on a lifted Jeep. You can put them on the stock rims. If you get new rims stick with 16x8" w/ 5" backspacing. Jeep Rubicon wheel and tires seem to be popular. They are a 245/75R16 Goodyear MTR on a 16x8" w/ 5" backspacing aluminum rim.- Eddo

Good point. The Frankenlift is a good kit but has a few issues. High quality parts, but due to it height (yes they all say 2.5" but its more like a almost 3.5" for most) and different top plate you run into some issues. They can be addressed rather easily if you understand the suspension...- Eddo

Actually that is incorrect. When the suspension droops the upper a-arm falls into the spring. It needs to be stopped from drooping so far. In stock form the strut is what prevent the suspension from drooping so far that UBJ contact is made. The max extension of the strut is what prevents...- Eddo
