Steering intermediate shaft?
I am looking for the intermediate steering shaft that lives between the firewall and the steering rack. I want an old one so I can use it as a template when I make my own. I've seen it called the lower steering shaft too :shrug: Then I wil take pics and tell you guys how I did it...- Downtown

No - check it flat on the ground. It sits in a more relaxed position then. Changing out the intermediate shaft is a straight forward job... But a tough one (big heavy parts that sometimes don't want to cooperate) Remove wheel and brakes Remove spindle nut Bust the LBJ loose Remove the strut...- Downtown

It caused a grinding/hum on mine... My guess is that, on mine, I was hearing a splined connection moving in a way that it shouldn't move.- Downtown

Grab hold of the CV joint housing (inner joint) and apply a radial load upward... there should be a tiny...- Downtown
