Yes that is correct. The EVIC is the overhead console and if you have that from the factory then you should only need the first PN I listed. And you won't need to pass a wire through the firewall like I mentioned. All the work for that harness is in the trunk of the Jeep. Very easy.
For $4 I...
you could have gotten a brand new hitch installed for free from a dealership if you had the recall done.
I recommend the mopar trailer hitch wiring kit and go for the 7-pin plug then buy a 4 way adapter. this is what i did because it gives you more options of what you can tow. it also gives you...
I ordered one as soon as this one broke.
You know I thought about it too. I thought, maybe you're supposed to leave the straps on and they will just break themselves. Then I thought, well if the step was that important they probably would give some sort of instruction sheet. Just my luck...
well now i get to sound like a dummy because I cut those restraining straps just before i bolted it to the transmission. i had no instructions with it so i left the cap on but cut the straps then held it in place with my hand, installed it and bolted it. im guessing that had something to do with it?
OK so am I missing something or did i just get a shitty part??
I actually did the replacement. only took 4 hours. bolted everything up. started the jeep. wont go into gear. looked under the jeep. big puddle of fluid. unbolted the slave cylinder from the transmission. all the fluid came out and...
Yea I just started looking at it and was thinking it looks like alot of stuff in the way.
Thanks for the insight. Any special tools required besides the regular sockets with extentions and wrenches?
Im looking through the service manual and I cant find anything specific about removing the master and slave cylinder assembly for the clutch.
Can anyone give me some guidance on how to go about this?
Been having difficult shifting for a while and finally got around to ordering a new...
The problem was because I wanted a 7 pin plug to have the ability to do 7 pin or 4 pin. If you know you only want 4 pin there is a simple harness that plugs into the existing tail light harness and runs a 4 pin plug.
For the 7 pin harness from mopar, it plugs into the tail lights but also...
I added the supplemental harness as bob suggested and I now have working running lights on my trailers. Ended up only costing me $40 CDN because i found someone on ebay selling them for $6. Cost $30 to get it shipped to me but still better than the $75 the Canadian site wanted for the harness...
I thought that was only if you want to run brake controls. I thought even without the supplemental harness a 4-pin connector would still work properly.
Is that the harness you have to run all the way up to the front of the truck somehow? How bad is the install?
I got the Mopar harness that just clicks in to the two connectors and then there is the wires for the brake controller that I don't use so they're j aust bundled up and stuffed behind the panel in the trunk.
installed my mopar 7 pin wiring harness last year long before i ever had a trailer and now im seeing i dont have running lights. both signals and brakes work but I have no constant lights with the parking lights turned on in the jeep. has anyone seen this before or did i do something wrong or...
If you get good spacers like spidertrax or something comparable you will probably never have issues. But you have to think of it like you're doubling the number of lugnuts. That's twice as many nuts that could potentially come loose. There are a couple of members who run spacers full time so...
I've only had mine for 6 months and it has paid for itself already. Dump runs, helped me move, just bought some furniture the other day. I got one with a full 4x8 box on the inside with 2' sides and a fold down tailgate. It's the perfect size it follows right behind me I don't even think about...
