Today I had a talk with the vehicle's previous owner. While talking about 4WD, he suggested using the part time 4WD at speeds up to 60 km/h.. I asked him if he had used part time 4WD on dry pavement, and he confirmed. And he seems to have used it quite often..I hope he hasn't damaged anything.- resistance

Talking about 4WD.. As far as I have read in the forum posts, it's ok to use the full time 4WD in any condition and as long as I like, otherwise, it wouldn't be "full time", would it? But part time 4WD can only be used on snow, ice, mud, etc. right? Is it ok to switch to full time 4WD...- resistance

The tires are 2 yrs old but even so, these are winter tires with quite deep threads and vacuum design. I've been driving for 15 years and none of my cars slipped so much with new or old winter tires on. :confused:- resistance

I unfortunately have the habit of driving fast, esp. when going to work using the highway around the city. I can't stop it. Ok ,tires.. What do you recommend for better grip? What brand, dimension etc? If I get bigger tires, do I also have to get bigger rims too? And will I lose climbing power or acceleration?- resistance

Ah, sorry for the skid plate issue, I was sure I got it wrong lol :o Today it happened once again, I turned out to the street and backside slipped from side to side. If this is caused by the LSD, it is dangerous really. I get close to losing control. Don't even want to think what would happen...- resistance

Hoosierjeeper, I'm sorry but I don't know what exactly "skid" is.:o If you mean uncontrolled forward movement when braking, or spinning tires, then no. In my case, the back of the vehicle slides left or right when turning sharply, thus getting out of control for a second or two.- resistance

I didn't check them thoroughly, but the tires seemed to be ok. But I'll ceck them again. BTW, coud it be the LSD(I'm not sure if I have one though)? I heard that driving with LSD on wet surfaces could be tricky sometimes.kopkrab.gif- resistance

Sure, I'll post pics as soon as possible. One question: Yesterday, while driving it for the first time, I was turning a corner and the back of the vehicle slipped badly. I gained control but it was quite scary:( I tested the same turning action many times, and the same thing happened twice...- resistance

The owner of the jeep says it's a 2006 2.4. Is it so bad, the 2.4? As I said it's the only KJ here with affordable taxes. If I don't buy this, my other option is suzuki grand vitara BTW.- resistance
