Does this need to be replaced?

I agree the OTC tend to be better quality. All the OTC stuff I have is pretty decent and takes the abuse. Usually I try to find a longer bolt from the engine or somewhere on the car with the correct threading and use spacers to get the balancer started. I also have a collection of bolts I’ve...

    sudden transmission issue

Ok. IMO That is better than the commanders and GC. Even the down shift up shift in those jeeps can go bad causing the transmission to get stuck in gear like Limp Home mode. Restarting usually reset its. Anyway I Never liked it when jeep used vacuum or electric switches to engage 4 wheel drive...

    sudden transmission issue

What a weird transmission problem. Never head of anything like it. My first though it fluid is too low, but it should slosh around any direction so turning shouldn’t be an issue. Maybe the pump or pickup screen if it’s in the transmission. Do the 2005 liberties have levers or buttons to engage...

Does this need to be replaced?

Btw the puller has to be slightly longer reach than the standard one. Something like oem tool 25090. But it may be common now, several Ford and Chevy engines need similar longer shaft pullers so it might be common now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Low side AC pressure very high

What kind of gauge were you getting a reading with, how high was high, and was the compressor running when it read too high. Not running the low side will sometimes read 100psi as it runs dropping to normal levels. ACs are tricky to diagnose, switches, relays, magnetic clutch, lots of little...

    3.6

The factory 3.7 is a 90 degree engine and the 3.6 is 60, so it’s not a simple swap. It’d require a 3.6 drivetrain, harnesses and pcm to be done. I’m sure someone knows how to make it happen Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Which ball joint tool

Oh, that’s good then. I haven’t this job yet on anything newer in the jeep world. Looking at the video They put the upper control arm bolts on the inside of the engine bay, that’s gotta suck to access. What special tools will they need? Edit: this may be a good thread. On the subject...

    Which ball joint tool

For the old XJ, and other jeeps with the solid dana 30 front axel the special tool was OTC 7894 or an equivalent. It also required a huge c-clamp to press it out and in. On the old Cherokee it was the only way to get it done for me others tell me the dropped theirs out with a BFH no problem...

    Oil Light

Far as I know the 3.7 only has one oil sender/sensor. I use the term interchangeably because some parts companies list it either way. But there probably is a proper definition I'm not using. Good news is no engine noise! I doubt if the pressure is really too low, be good to test it anyway...

    Oil Light

Completely agree. With my old jeeps and cars I get so much from the oil pressure gauge, Heath of the engine, how the oil is doing, when I need to change that oil and filter. It's irreplaceable in any instrument panel. every new vehicle in our family is idiot lights with no option for a real...

    Oil Light

Hopefully it's just the sender. Or bad oil filter, if it's a Fram you should probably ditch it. (Although for any Hyundai owners out there the cheapest Fram oil filter insert for the 2007 V6 engines are actually made in Korea by the same manufacturer that makes them for Hyundai) Were there any...

This is a hard post to write

Sorry to hear about your situation twobobskj. I'm kind of in the same boat we trying to fix up our place to look after someone too. Been years of getting one improvement after another done but we really need a specifically built addition or major renovation gutting the place. Bought the...

    Dragging brake calipers?

I had the rear drag with caliper sticking. I tried pushing the caliper back and all kinds of stuff to keep them free. Too much of the vehicle sitting and too much corrosion. End up replacing them. On the Cherokee I had luck pushing the caliper back and/or stomping the breaks to free it up ...

    Please help.....

Are you sure the temperature is correct? My guess would be faulty wiring, maybe wiring is moved as the intake is connected . I'm not sure what the intake could be taking in to hit 300 degrees. Here is a link for someone trouble shooting a 4.0 wrangler but it should be the same in principal...

    Valve question

Lots of 3.7 & 4.7 have idle issues, they like a very low idle something like 550 rpm. It often dips from there closer to 450-500 where it'll surge back to above 550 then settle down. Plenty of Commander and liberty owners trying to find why it'll sometimes stall at idle. For that problem...

    Mid fire, stutter, transmission issue?

Pretty much. Those plugs are only good for maybe 30k. Could be your problem. did they do a compression test for you? If they did the plugs would have been removed and easy to pull now Be sure to get the mopar equivalent spark plugs (I've forgotten the part #) , these engines seem to work best...

Calling all Hot climate area members [AC mods?]

I thought these type of things were negligible far as results go, even the house ac it's more for protection than making it cooler. But then again it a very hot engine bay. So some results wouldn't surprise me. Be curious to know what you find out. I've lived in the sweltering south almost...
