What strut/shock provides the longest travel?

The Rancho struts and shocks are excellent, the OME are just a little better and reported to be a little longer lived. The increasearticulation remove the rear bar, disconnect the front bar while wheeling and add some Rubicon Super Flex rear control arms that are also at AllJ's.

    Is the liberty really rugged?

When I bought my CRD in '05 I could of sworn that the Libs were on the Consumer to buy list. The Highlander is a Camry with a different body, try towing or going somplace nasty with that. The Libs will turn around almost without moving the inner rear wheels, U-turns, parking, backing up and...

    02 Jeep Liberty Towing question.

Remember to factor in the load in the trailer when you make your decision. A trailer that heavy already has trailer brakes. A good brake controller like a Prodigy will be a real asset. A brake light wire is already ran in the loom, its in the drivers side kick plate and is blue and tagged. At...

    Electric supercharger

It's the same as if you put your heater fan in front of the intake. Think that would help?

    Stock wheel question

They start looking like that over time. There has been discussion about it before on all the sites.

    select trac transmission

I use 4 wd full during wind, rain, snow. 4 lo can be easily selected, but you ned to have the tranny in neutral to select it. Steering is a little heavier in 4 fulltime, but not much else is noticable. With your conditions I'd go for the "06-'07 rigs with traction control. Unless you have...

    Winches...

First off you'll probably never need 9000 lbs of pull. My winch lifted the rig completely off it's wheels when I was helping the old man get the tractor out of a soft spot from an undergroung spring. The left set of tires were essentially just outriggers keeping the Lib upright. The front hitch...

    Winches...

The 6000 pounds is the hitch towing rate, not the recovery capacity of the hitch. They are not the same thing, they over engineer the hitch for trailer towing rate to ensure they will pass stringent, expensive certifications.

4-Hi.....How Do U Know When Safe To Use?

hyedipin, define "dances". You only need to go into 4WD when you absolutely need to, the Jeep will tell you when that is. There's no doubt about it. Dry dirt roads are not one of the places you need 4WD.

    wheel spacers, how thick?

The thinnest you can buy. You'll smack the outside and your interior clearances will disappear if you get to carried away.

Rock Krawler KJ 7 UP Suspension System #17427

If you want to never drive your KJ again, velvet rope off an area and display it to your neighbors than buy the kit. The company quit making them some time ago as NO ONE that bought one was happy. The one's that took the time to modify the system to get decent results have a sold or trying to...

    2007 Jeep Liberty Purchase.....Should I do it?

Like all forums and sites, the happy customers are smiling and going about their business. The unhappy ones have all the time in the world to complain, many are just people who for some reason of another bought the Jeep because they thought it was cool or something or had huge expectations that...

    235/75's on a Moab???

8 inch wheels need at least a 245 to protect them. If you want Rubis on a unlifted rig you're better off with 245/70s.

    noisy diesel

They are quiet at freeway speeds also.

    Jeep KJ Wheel Bolt Pattern

CJs are nowhere near the same, off sets are even worse. Jeep Wranglers are the same bolt pattern. So are 93-98 Grand Cherokees. Dodge Avengers and Stealths though you'd have to check offsets, Ford Explorer or Sport Trac with same checks.

    Crager 397

Should also be fine if you went to a 245/70 tire.

    Intake for Liberty's

That's just it, you've heard enough aftermarket spin that it "seems" that the stock unit couldn't possibly be good. The fact is it's a very well designed unit, and so are the intakes on a lot of other rigs out there. In the old days we changed filter, carb, intake manifold and matched the ports...

    Exhaust for 2002 Liberty Sport

I wouldn't use a recycled cat, they are only good for 80,000+ miles or so. There are other sources of cats other than the dealer. You just need a 2 1/2 inch high flow cat to replace what you have.

Has anyone fitted a dual exhaust on a 3.7Ltr.?

4WD&SUV magazine did a cat back, intake change to the Lib a few months back. No much power found, they did find a little better fuel mileage, only problem is you'd have to own the rig a really long time to recupe you costs. It came out to about $200 dollars a hp ,and you'd have to drive it like...
