    Any customs bumpers out there?

    There's a guy developing a prerunner tube bumper on the LOST KJ site, but I haven't heard from him lately. The prototype looked promising. He left pics there.

    What does everybody pay for their fuel

    All the gas grades are more expensive than diesel where I'm fueling in Oregon. Diesel $2.67, regular $2.79 i think last I fueled.

    Max tire size before you need to regear and/or pound the pin

    You'll lose 5-6% as the change in tire size mathmatically shows. Your speedo will be off the same. etc., etc. Less noticable if your tires are less aggressive and therfore have less rolling resistance. As noted before wheel/tire weight will affect start and stop equally.

    Tires

    The Cooper ATRs look alot like the Nokians I'm running. I like the performance. Looks like the Nokians may have a little more siping on the lugs, but very similar in appearance/price.

    Size question

    The experiences of people doing expeditionary type travel suggest the opposite, the max tire diameter with a thinner tire that fits well into the wheelwell gives the best overall results. The length of the tread patch is more important than it's width in the vast majority of situations.

    Interco TSL Thornbird

    The 10.50 are a tight fit, the others will be a problem. They are also not the most loved tires that ever hit the pavement. The new JP magazine sums up the comments I've seen very well.

    Looks like they are going up in price with the other tires due to shipping and materials all made from oil products, if the is the going rate. Bought mine at Tire Factory.

    I've had very good performance from my Nokian Vatiivas in all weather conditions and off road under the conditions you'd expect for this type tire. Being built in Finland I was reasonably sure they would be a good tire as I'm sure there are far more less than perfect roads and weather up there...

    Mini Roof Rack?

    My build sheet on my CRD '05 doesn't show the roof rack as an accessory, or that it was shipped loose. However if the roof line looks nice and finished in appearance it may have not had one if you have one of the special editions, etc. I personally have never seen a bare roof.

    If you look in the new JP magazine they have a results of some extensive real world tests done on the MTs, including the Hi-Tecs. Don't buy the rag though, they dis KJs all the time.

    Moabs can be found on ebay, and a place where I've seen some real deals was in the buy/sell section of your local 4X4 club web sites. There are 3 or 4 pretty close to where I live.

    If your just driving the streets and a few logging roads, etc. a Daystar puck lift works very well without some of the problems the OTT lift above has, get Ranchos front and back to finish the job and your set.     Roof Racks/Cargo Carriers

    Get rid of the rack and build something that bolts in it's place if you want real load capacity. 150 lbs I think is max and the basket counts.

    Which Magnaflow to get

    I had to have my Flowmaster swagged a bit and welded in. The Magnaflow isn't as popular, some complain it sounds to much like a rice burner 4. Flowmaster 40 and especially 50s are more popular. Center inlet and offset outlet is the type you want, whatever you get.

    I put in a Flowmaster 40 Delta, they had to add in about 18 inches of pipe as the muffler is shorter than the stocker. Same with the Magnaflows unless you get the big SUV/RV models. Measurements depend on the model/type you get. There are the short ones like I got, gives me a little more...
