    More Muffler Questions

The Magnaflow site used to have a specific Jeep Liberty sound clip listed. That said, I've never seen any real documented results that any of the exhausts alone give our Libs much more than a different sound, no real improvements past that. I did pick up quite a bit of clearance when I put the...

    Another Nitrogen in Tires Question

The old chalk test, from years ago still works. Run a heavy line of chalk across the tread and drive forward for about 100 yds in a straight line. Look at the chalk line. To much pressure the chalk will still be seen on the tread edges and more or totally gone in the center. Chalk in the center...

    Rusty's Running low on ome's

Al has recently upgraded his A arms to make them stronger by the way. The upper ball joint he told me, are used by NASCAR because it's the best he could find. The downside is they are harder for him to keep a supply of.

    false advertising

The libs I've seen the Jeep guys drive at different events have all had lifts, nothing new. My dealer thinks lifts, etc. are great within reason, they only start glazing over when you start doing dumb stuff. Jeep was warrantying all the small amount of front ends in the Libs that were failing...

Need Advice-best mods for Baja wheeling?

Al beefed up his A arm when he heard that 2 pair had been broken during heavy wheelin'. He can give you the info if you call him. Mine have worked great so far on the CRD. He has over a hundred pair out there and have had 2off road failures that he has replaced the arms on even though there is...

    Lift Kit and Towing

None of the lifts "REQUIRE" the new upper A arms, they are used to help pull your suspension back into a more factory configuration, making it easier to realign the front end and getting the upper ball joint a little further away from the spring decreasing the chance of ball joint boot damage...

My Dealer is a RIP OFF!!!!!!!!

Lesson learned, it is never, never necessary to buy bearings, seals, etc. from the dealer. All this stuff is available from bearing, industrial supply companies from the part numbers right on the parts. 3 or 4 companies probably make comparable parts with very similar part numbers for what you...

best lift kit for the money?

Lifts over 2.5 inches will smack upper upper control arms/balljoints against the struts and nuke your cv joints. Lift type depends on if you are a wheeler, wannabe or street mallrat, and how much you have to spend. There are some listed in the archives that are flat terrible. K Dje Ryu's first...

front mount hitch-good to go 4 a winch?

The front hitches I've seen work wellas either winch mounts or reco very points. The ends of the hitch that mounts to the frame also are in-line with the factory recovery hook points marked on the bumper. You just have to weld a few pieces of 3/4-1 inch stock on the end with a hole in the end...

    Wheel Spacers.

Will put a different load on your wheel bearings and it pulls the whole wheel out where in the larger diameters it may now strike the pinchweld, air dam and outer edge of the flares more during reverse tight turns or at full stuff or both. The positive side is that it now the wheel/tires won't...

Does anyone know if these will fit?

If you're not getting a world class deal on something I'm not so sure I would bother as your not improving on the 245/70X16 setup that fits your rig now. The only reason may be they don't make a 16 in a tire that will fit. That said my '05 will work with that wheel, the wheel on the inside is...

Wish I had known about this place B/F

The clevis lift and spacer plates used in the spring lifts don't compress the spring one little bit, they simply add distance. A spring settles where it sets due to spring load from the vehicle's weight only on our lifts.

Rubicon Tires and Wheels On 03 Liberty

All the Rubi before the JK change this year will I believe fit the Liberty. Go down to a 245/70 tire and they fit also. All Libertys are 5X4 1/2 I think. The JK were changed to 5X5 this year.

Flatfoot, If CR didn't like the Liberty, why are they always on the recommended to buy list for SUVs. Have been since the first.

245/75r/16 - Kuhmo Road Venture MT KL71 - with Rusty Lift?

The 235/85 tires will fit also with some interior wheelwell work. The Kumhos are a decent tire, have seen longterm offroad reports from people who beat them up regularly on their offroad rigs and they hold up well with good tread life. Know lots of contractor's that run nothing but this 235/85...

    NEED HELP!!ON GETTING A LIFT

You pay a little more for the Frankenlift because eveything is ready for you to install when you pull it out of the box. Everything is to your specs and ready to go. That's the way I'm going as soon as the full spring/OME shock/strut CRD kit is out.

    Is the liberty really rugged?

Have a few buds that have bought the FJ, none of them get the mpg on the window that I've talked to. The interior is something I'd have to get used to, but they are nice riding rigs, heavier feeling, more truck like. The aftermarket is all over them as they run pretty much the Tacoma truck gear...

2 Door Liberty ?? What Ya think??

Been done a few times. The euros get on they use as a delivery rig with no side glass also. You'd have the figure a way to get to the rear seats or pull them out. The SEMA special convertible KJ and a rig in Kentucky that's all hopped up are two doors.
