I agree, if the tyres are balanced ok, the most likely worn component would be the tie rod ends, unless you've got a broken rubber boot and water and mud has got into the inner end of the tie rod or rack.
Just jack it up and grab the wheel at 9 and 3 o'clock and see if you can feel any slack...
OK, I found the part no, wasn't looking hard enough the first time.
The big square filter for the 42RLE is Part No. 52852913AB (Edit: Now been superceded by 68059549AA)
The smaller oval shaped filter for the 45RFE is Part No. 05013470AC
The spin-on cooler return filter in the 45RFE is...
There's a green or yellow sticker on the outboard end of the left axle tube which identifies wether the diff is LSD. You can see it just crawling under the rear end. Do a search on here, the details are there.
Of course the sticker may have fallen off by now, mine is still there on a 2002.
That mount looks like a fair bit of the antenna is close to the rim of the spare which is not to good for an antenna. It will probably not have a very good VSWR. I made a bracket for mine from aluminium which is held on by the spare wheel bolts but brings the base of the antenna up to the height...
Gasket kit? There is no gasket, just RTV.
I have a 2002 with the 45RFE (two filters in the transmission) and a 2003 42RLE (just one cooler return filter).
The parts manual does not show any filter at all in the 42RLE, but has both for the 45RFE.
Did you find a part number for your filter?
If you read the back of the Mopar ATF+4 bottle, it says:
Engineered to be a "Fill For Life" automatic transmission fluid under normal driving conditions.
I guess their idea of "Life" is shorter than ours.
Can anyone direct me to information on this recall? Both my vehicles would come under this for 2002/2003 models. I looked on the Jeep.com site using my VIN number and also on alldata and came up with nothing.
I have the same numbers on the Mopar package as Dave + a re-order ticket from McGard that was inside. I sent this off for a replacement key so I don't have the McGard part no. only the other half of the ticket with the code for my particular key.
This page lists the 5 lug set for a Liberty as...
TPMS saved me a tyre recently, picked up a nut and bolt, but I felt nothing even when the EVIC was telling me the pressure had dropped to half it's proper value. I think that by the time I felt something the tyre would have been damaged beyond repair. I would have felt it on a bend, but the road...
Yeah I've used a hammer on a few, but it can be nasty if the thing is really stuck. I just see so many of those forked chisel looking things available, but I suppose then it is important to get the right size so that you put pressure on the ball rather than the lip of the socket.
