    Traction Control on KJ

I didn't mean lockers aren't needed or that they won't make a big difference, but let's be honest - they're only really NEEDED to tackle something pretty gnarly. I was just suggesting that he finds out how capable the KJ is without them before shelling out a lot of money. You also learn to take...

    Traction Control on KJ

Ah Berakah - I've heard that's quite tough. Nice to hear you managed all the obstacles. I also scraped my underbelly a lot before getting the Camil lift kit. If you're looking for a lift, they're very good. Ask for Clarence and say Adam referred you :) I got 60mm lift after settling, which is...

    Traction Control on KJ

Hi rymnd, nice to have another South African here :) I have traction control on mine and I usually pull the ABS fuse when I go offroading. my mate gives it the same name as a locker switch: "moffie knoppie" :disgust: Bottom line is I still get up every obstacle without t/c. it's just easier...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Fitted new gas struts (from RockAuto) for the back window. It could probably lift a small child off the ground now :icon_lol:

What did you do to your jeep today?

I feel your pain. ...phoned a dealership the other day for some parts prices and instantly the guy said he couldn't help me without my VIN number! I had to really push him to look up a price for a viscous fan clutch. ugh.

    No, I didn't do a search!

Did a search for "bearings", but most of the results were about wheel spacers  Luke's links look pretty good though

    IamWeasel's Renegade

Thanks guys. The ride feels pretty similar to be honest. Apparently Camil Suspension systems are a marginally firmer on-road, but significantly more comfortable off-road. The front coilovers can support the weight, I guess with the rear springs it comes down to where the weight is support...

    IamWeasel's Renegade

Liftedddd And here are the pics. I haven't measured the fender heights yet, but I'll post those measurements soon. I'm really happy with it Before After: Not sure why they left the old rear springs in parallel with the new ones

    IamWeasel's Renegade

Thanks Dave :) Well it looks like I'll be posting pics far sooner than I thought - my mate phoned me yesterday and said that they had decided to focus on development of the kit while they have the Jeep with them - rather than just measure and then develop at their leisure over the next month...

    IamWeasel's Renegade

Good news! Instead of just taking measurements now and then manufacturing the springs and shocks over the next month or so, they decided to devote all resources to my Jeep and have three of the four corners completely done already! So far looking good for 65mm of lift after settling. They be...

    IamWeasel's Renegade

Took it in to have the suspension measured up for the new coilover kit. After having it for a couple of days, he sent me the following SMS yesterday: "Hi, there is something wrong with your jeep, we did the front suspension and the whole drive shaft pulled out by the CV joint. I'm gonna have to...

    wondering what this is called

I know what you mean - it's even worse if the jeep is dusty. I thought about fabricating a little visor under each light, but like Troy said, will probably look cheesy
