Excellent! And thanks for the link. I ordered one a while back and figured I'd wait til the Trans service to install. I'm looking forward to trying this thing. I figured it couldn't make things worse and at least it seems harmless.
Thanks Luke. Still reading that Ram thread as it is a ton of info. Sounds iffy to me especially after reading "page 10" of the Ram thread, but I'm going to put one on when I service my tranny next weekend. I'm about due and have a new pan to install. I'm really getting tired of the mushy...
True about reaching the upstreams. They are tough to get to. That 2/2 I changed was an easy one. As long as you didn't get the Bosch I think you'll be okay but I can't believe the connector fit. I think the Bosch are designed differently and respond slower so you'll get a frequent CEL. I'd wait...
I actually thought the plugs were different for the upstream vs downstream. I'm not sure on this but what year do you have?
BTW my 02 has 4 different part numbers for the O2s. I just changed the 2/2 sensor a couple months ago. Hope you got the NTKs
I actually thought all thermostats failed open these days. Now I'm wondering and worrying.
Still have to digest the rest but great food for thought in this thread. I'll be watching for more informed comments.
I have the same ebrake system as you on my Avenger and did the same Backup method after replacing the rear rotors and pads and readjusting the Ebrake. Don't know if it worked but the e brake works fine on it. It really is just a little drum. I adjusted it until it just cleared to begin with.
Way back I thought I remember adjusting them (Drums) close and then driving in reverse and braking firmly a couple times. I do this when I do work on my 02 with drums. Seems to work for me or maybe I'm just a creature of habit on the edge of sanity.
You're all modified up front right?
I wish I could run Ford rotors on my KJ. My 98 Ranger has 145k on the originals and still going strong. Akebono pads for the past 80k on the Ranger.
BTW Raybestos pads (high end) on the KJ right now with NAPA (ultra premium I think) rotors. Works well but...
I'll have to ask my chauffeur. :laughing1:
Seriously, I pause a second or two at the ACC. I drove a 93 Pontiac Grand-Am for 5 or 6 years and if you didn't it wouldn't start on the first try. Fuel pump I think.
Good point! All that stuff is always moving. Check the recessed boot near the Tcase for cracks. That ones a pisser. Mine rumbled when it went especially under acceleration. Worse in 4wd.
