Diesel Performance
I believe TST is working on a programmer for the 2.8L CRD. I have a 2003 Dodge RAM 2500 Crew Cab 4x4 Cummins Turbo Diesel (305/555), so I've been able to keep up with diesel performance over the last 7 or 8 years. http://www.tstproducts.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=11 Greg- gsbrockman

Your fuel economy will go up, especially after the winter-blend diesel is all used up. You should also see some improvement in mpg as the engine becomes completely broken in....I'm guessing in the 15k to 20k range or so. Also, extended idling drops fuel economy alot too. Test Drove A CRD

CRD dipstick mod
The oil is so clean on mine (218 miles) that it's hard to see....the markings on mine are OK, however. Have you changed your oil yet ? Any trouble finding the 0W40 Mobil 1 Full Synthetic in your area ? Greg- gsbrockman

Looking for a long-wear tire.
Another vote for the Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVO's. Had them on my wife's '02 Liberty 4x4 Sport (P235/70R16's) for about 2,600 miles before we bought the '05 Limited 4x4 CRD. Even my wife thinks these P225/75R16 OWL Goodyear Wrangler ST's are a "sissy" tire, and she does not know much about...- gsbrockman

Just Ordered a CRD Limited!
I can't answer how difficult they are to work on, as mine only has 218 miles. \:D/ However, they require 6.4 quarts of 0W40 Mobil 1 Full Synthetic (excluding filter capacity) and the service interval "A" is every 12,500 miles and the service interval "B" is every 6,250 miles. Just Ordered a CRD Limited!
It will be worth the wait when you order, but they're hard to find. My wife has already racked up 218 miles on hers and she's still grinning from ear to ear. It took a while to get her to consider the diesel aspect of it, but after my 2003 Dodge RAM 2500 Crew Cab 4x4 CTD constantly got better...- gsbrockman

2005 Jeep Liberty Limited 4x4 CRD
The ceramic glow plugs don't take too long to cycle. It was around 76* Thursday when I bought it; tonight it's supposed to be down in the lower 30's; may not make much difference as it's garaged.
