Sounds to me like the service guy was just trying to get you to buy extras, this time but, the mileage recommendations in the manual do seem to be a little far, for my tastes. You should be alright for a while though, I'd think another 20K km or so. Change with synthetics and you won't have to...
point. Sorry. But, honestly, why not? Unless you just can't afford the labor and/or parts/tools. I'm a machinist and I can tell you that even "stainless" steel will corrode without something to prevent it. I just don't understand how a ball joint that can't be greased is going to last any...
sort of off-topic but, what's the part number for the c-clamp style ball joint press for the Moogs? I have mine waiting to go in but, I want to make sure I have the right press so I don't @#*% them up.
Try filling at a FASTER rate. Some of those pumps don't recognize that the tank is full if they're pumping real slow (not enough back-pressure or something). However, if it's doing that ALL the time, then yeah, there's a problem.
That's the lift I just took out and replaced with Rusty's suspension lift. Save the added costs of replacing stuff later on and just get the struts/springs, it's cheaper in the long run.
Couldn't agree more. I'm about to go out in a foot of snow that fell last night and I can't wait! A month ago, I still had a spacer lift but, the longer springs just make the ride feel so much more solid. The spacers just didn't give that same feeling of stability. Wish I had found this...
Aftermarket upper control arms (JeepinByAl's or Rusty's) and lower ball joints (Moog K3199), if you can find any. Let me know if you do. They seem to be in very short supply at the moment. I've read that the shocks that come with Rusty's lift aren't all that great so you may want to upgrade...
It's definitely not as smooth. The springs are a bit stiffer than stock but, really not too bad. I drive some pretty rough roads (dirt and paved) quite regularly and haven't noticed much loss of traction from the suspension being more stiff. It will bounce a little more on severely wash-board...
