Don't let them rip you off. The ball joints are notoriously bad from the factory, so much so that they did a recall on the LBJ. Not sure if you've done that recall yet.
It really is worth it to do it yourself, if you have the time and tools (or a friend w/ tools). For $1500 you can do...
Care to elaborate about the engine swap? Upgrading or just putting in a replacement?
I really like those Cummins R2.8, but it'd be easier to buy a TJ and use the kit built for that than to shoehorn it into the KJ. I've been wanting to build up a clone of Fred's (from dirt every day)...
I think we all have a "Hank" in our lives that we're forced to deal with. I like that he put it on us to remove him. Kinda like when "Hank" borrows my tractor and returns it empty, making his problem mine. :happy175::happy175:
It's the big fan beneath the fan shroud. I believe it's called the radiator cooling fan on rockauto, and I've always known it as the thing that makes anything serpentine belt related a PITA!
Anyway, it's staying on. 100% is related to engine speed, i.e. it is making the engine run harder...
I think the fan clutch has gone out because the HD cooling fan is staying on. I got in to drive it the other day, and after warming it up in the driveway for a few minutes, the fan would not turn off like it typically does. Can anyone confirm that it is my fan clutch? If it is, what brand...
Here here! :favorites13: Just pulled through 16, 10 hour days. So wiped out, but that paycheck is going to make me smile.
As simple as it sounds. Here's a link about what started this. It's a silly reference to millennials not being able to afford things like homes, cars, etc.
How...
I wish I woulda replaced all hoses, and water pump, when I replaced my tstat. Woulda saved me a lot of headaches down the road.
Listen to what these good people are saying. It is sound advice. Also, to reiterate, HOAT only. Zerex G-05 is what I use.
Whoa whoa whoa, don't put that on all millennials. Sure we may be responsible for a lot of things, like avocado toast, but don't put this jackass on us!! :happy175:
Maybe he'll go and get a life, or get crushed. We'll never know, and we'll all be just fine not knowing!
Clipped a deer a few months ago. Cracked my headlight assembly and busted the grill up. Been waiting on the bumper to get here so I can tackle the whole front end together.
The RL rear bumper and hitch took out an Infiniti G35 a few years ago. The guy had literally just driven off the...
The drums are definitely old school! Have thought about throwing an '03 axle on there but it's not worth the time. I don't mind having the drums though, they never give me any issues (sans the annoying squeak).
I'll be replacing rotors up front and the drums in the rear. Along with a good...
Seems like the consensus is to replace pads/rotors every brake job. I was on the fence because my rotors look fine but the pads are at end of life, just over 40k on them. Should the drums be replaced as well?
This is on the same topic but deviating from the original question. I've had an...
When mine was out the sensor had been damaged on the wiring caused by a rub near the brake line. The sensor itself was also gummed up.
Could be that it's DOA. How much have you driven it since the repair?
I was having a very rough idle after a 5500 mile road trip. New plugs and coil packs were the ticket to it being smooth again. It had also just passed 200k and I couldn't remember ever replacing them myself, and replacing the coils was exactly what it needed. I also cleaned the TPS, but it...
Hell yea! That is the spirit of Jeep there!
A trailer-only rig has its place; they sure can be fun, but at the end of the day, being able to use it for more than one thing sure does make it worth it.
