    Heater Core Revisited.

So I was reading on some of the other car forums of people that have reversed their hoses and driven that way for a few days to a week. Some did it with a cleaning solution in the whole system, others just to reverse the flow. This sounds like a decent idea to a point and I can see doing it...

    Heater Core Revisited.

No image. I spoke with a parts person at Jeep today and they know their stuff generally and they are pretty sure there is no "bypass" in the system.

    Heater Core Revisited.

I suspect that is the design as well, basically a small radiator with an open section across the top. That said though if it can bypass how does it work in the first place as water always seeks the path of least resistance so straight from in to out would happen all the time.

    Heater Core Revisited.

So some follow up and why I really don't feel like this is a heater core issue. Sitting in the driveway with engine idling, temp on high, fan on low I took the temps of the heater core hoses, heater vents, engine block where bleed valve is. Outside air was 55 F Bleed valve - 175 Heater hose...

    Heater Core Revisited.

I've asked this before without any clear answers so once again this year I have the same problem and looking for the same answers. Is the heater core design one in which the fluid is forced to go from intake to output or can fluid bypass the coil and pass directly from in to out? I had my...

    Pulsating Brakes

I have NEVER had pads act in this way and heck no you don't replace rotors when replacing pads, you don't even need to turn them each time. At most a surface prep is needed, nothing more than sanding down the surface to remove any material left by the old pads. Once completed you need to go...

    No Cruise Control

I'm reluctant to modify the remaining piece since it does still connect and if it stops connecting at all then the whole dang assembly and controller has to be replaced. Not sure what the part is made of, looks to be the same as the radiator and I used some high temp stuff on the radiator and it...

    No Cruise Control

So I went back outside to take a better look at it and the damn plastic retention part has been slightly cracked around the lip, most likely by the tech tearing out my engine. How the heck I'm going to get that replaced is going to be interesting and no way they will own up to breaking it...

    No Cruise Control

Came off again today, again there is no tension on the cable at all which doesn't seem right but I have nothing to compare it with. Will try to dig back behind everything this weekend to see if there isn't an adjusting nut of some type. Little things like this kind of tick me off with my...

    LED interior lighting issue

Don't replace the driver's floor light, leave in the stock one. This will give the system the needed resistance or whatever the electrical term is so the lights function correctly. I just did this myself a month ago, love the overhead and cargo LED's, back seat is still to dang dark with no...

    V-6 Coolant Leak

I've seen multiple Liberty's have the same crack in the radiator which will leak. The stress point is on the driver side, top corner area where there is a bracket coming off the radiator, all plastic.

    Serpentine belt position

All stock. I'll have to check but thinking the build is about the same time. Nobody has ever pulled that part till I did. Image attached of old part prior to pulling it off. Hard to be exact but you can see they are the same size. Should be easy enough to release the belt and put on the...

    No Cruise Control

It popped off again today. The cable has a ton of slack in it and I don't see any way it is going to stay in place long term. Ideas?

    Pulsating Brakes

Brakes were pumped as needed during the downhill run, not riding them. Trust me, I have driven that hill and others for 40+ years in a probably a dozen rigs including pickup trucks loaded with wood, furniture and so forth, I know how to come off the hills. There was no need to "downshift" as a...

    Pulsating Brakes

Terminology, we all know, or should, that what we mean is uneven. Yeah as I said once they cooled all braking afterwards was and is fine. First braking may have had a bit of bump to it but after that nothing. Now how to stop that from happening? I can't be coming off ski mountains this...

    Pulsating Brakes

So I am a huge believer in changing pads on a regular basis, long before they go out, usually just as the chamfer levels out. So I just did this on Thursday, new pads, inspected the rotors and they looked perfect. Prior to changing out the pads my only complaint was a slight squeak on cold pads...

    Serpentine belt position

I clearly had 90/90 on my arm. I pulled the 90 off the old part and put it on the Mopar 76/90 so it would be 90/90. I don't understand why the parts catalog shows 76/90 for the 02 and the dealer even confirmed my VIN was showing 76/90. As the belt was replaced last year or so based on the exact...

    Cruise Control Problem

Question remains, how much slack does everyone have on these cables because the cruise popped off again today.

    Cruise Control Problem

Thank you Dave and adamjam2! Just posted on my own thread on the topic of no cruise that I was sitting around watching TV and reading post when I came across this one. Grabbed a flashlight during a commercial and sure enough, cable had popped off. Talk about the fastest fix to a PITA problem...
