LTT True Cold Air Intake for KJ's

I did not. But on the Gen 1 KJ, the grill scoop isn't really needed. You can use my air box adapter for the Gen 2 KJ and then just route the 3" aluminum vent hose straight in behind the grill slot. I'd be happy to build an air box adapter if you want one. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

Detroit TrueTrac for Rear Diff - $350 Shipped

I have a Detroit TrueTrac (Chrysler 8.25, 29 spline) that I got for mine, but have decided to go a different route. It is very slightly used. Guy had it in his XJ for less than 1000 miles before he swapped to a full locker.

    Treadwrights??

Figured I would chime in here too. I have had my Guard Dogs on for about 6 months / 10k miles. 265/75-16 - Load D. Mine have been great. I rotate mine every oil change (about every 4k miles). That rotation interval seems to be just about right to keep the tread evenly worn. As any other...

Actual Lift Amount - Lets Compare Fender Heights

That size is a little small on a lifted KJ. Here was mine with 235/75-15 with a standard Daystar spacer lift. About the same height as OME coil lift alone.

    subwoofer recommendation?

I wanted to keep my space too. I have one of these: http://www.crutchfield.com/s_108BASSLIN/Infinity-Basslink.html Love it. Good bass addition to the stock speakers.

Yes, That is what he is talking about. And 90 is the correct torque.

It was fun while it lasted

Not really hate. Just disappointment that they sag so soon. Brand spankin' new, KJ height measures right at 19" from center of wheel hub to the bottom outer edge of the fender flare. Mine was sagged almost an inch after only 20k miles. We don't expect high performance suspension from the...

It was fun while it lasted

I would recommend as the others have stated. I assume your hesitation to your planned suspension upgrades is because you typically don't think of a lifted Jeep as a highway vehicle. Here would be my suggestion. Replace all 4 shocks with some new quality shocks. Also, replace the springs with...

    Jegs Daystar lift kit?

Yep. Shocks are just a damper in a single direction vector motion. We have a coil-over shock assemble. Struts are designed to hold a side/torsional load as part of the 4-bar linkage of the suspension. Our steering knuckle on the KJ is that link in the 4-bar setup. And yes, I was one of...

Jacking up high enough for 3" Lift

I have one of these. http://www.harborfreight.com/Rapid-Pump-3-Ton-Heavy-Duty-Floor-Jack-68048.html?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2311b&utm_source=1002 They go on sale semi-regularly for $69.99. Actually, mine is the older, non-rapid pump version. But I have used the heck out of it for over...

    What parts to order?

And always add as much extended bump stop as you add in lift to both the front and rear, for the reason Troy mentioned above. 1" lift = 1" added bump stop, 3" lift = 3" added bump stop.

    Ball Joint Recall

Not any better ball joint at all. I have an 07. They are still a known wear item. You just have to keep an eye on them. If you stay stock height, they will last the longest. They are much more prone to failure if you lift your KJ and put them at a more extreme angle. Best solution is to...

***33" tires ***unable to find info... please help

I actually did run 285/75-16 tires (32.8") on mine for a while. I am maxed out on lift without an SFA conversion, and I am only 2WD, so I don't have to worry about front CV angles. I still have the stock 3.73 gears. It KILLED my gas mileage running those monster tires. Power loss was huge...

    DynaBeads

I tried the airsoft pellets too. They did work, but took about 5-10 seconds at speed to balance out. I think actual dynabeads would have worked better. Also, I was using them in 235/75-15 tires (29" Diameter). I have heard since then that the bead balancing works best on larger diameter (32"...

    Windshiel wiper pump?

Sounds like the pump is bad. The same pump runs forward for front wipers, backward for rear wipers. You should be able to hear it run. Just go get a new pump at the parts store. They are only about $17. Quick and easy fix.

SWMBO needs new tires...recommendations? Change spare?

I had a set of these: http://www.treadwright.com/p-90-p235-70r16-puma-a-t-p.aspx and loved them. They were on BFG All Terrain TA KO casings RWL. They were VERY good traction in rain. Great price too.

O'Reilly Auto parts also carries the grease-able super strength Precision (Federal Mogul) u-joints. I bought a couple a month or so ago. They cost me about $12 each.
