    Component speaker installation

Well, I managed to find a deep socket. On sale for $2 something at sears. It looks like the project will be delayed for a while. One my way back from getting the deep socket I hit some black ice on the freeway. I ended up going sideways in to the ditch and my spare tire/bumper catching a...

    Component speaker installation

It looks like the rears go directly to the deck. The front speaker wires in the doors match the wires behind the deck. I'm guessing the dash speakers are tapped in to those wires in parallel. It looks like I'll have to unhook the existing dash speaker anyway. The new speakers are 4 ohm and...

    Component speaker installation

Ok pulled the door panel off and discovered I do not have the premium system. There are only 2 wires on the door speaker and no amp/crossover attached. Apparently I don't need an adapter. My new speaker fits perfectly in the hole other than the speaker being too deep and hits the window. Good...

    Component speaker installation

Yeah I bought the jeep used. I really don't think I have the "premium" system because when the system was all stock it didn't sound good at all...No bass what so ever. I guess the best way to find out what I really have is to pull off the door panel, pull the speaker and look. I have the...

    Component speaker installation

Currently I have the rears hooked up to the deck and the stock fronts hooked up to my amp. You're saying most non premium set ups don't have 6 speakers? I'm not 100% sure if I have premium or not. I did have the 6 disc in dash deck. Infinity wasn't written any where on that.

    Component speaker installation

Sounds easy enough. Yes I am keeping the stock rear speakers. The rears are hooked up to my deck (eclipse cd5030) and the fronts are hooked up to a 300 watt Rockford fosgate amp. The amp connects to the speaker wires on the radio wiring harness. I do have the 6 speaker system. Are the dash...

    Component speaker installation

Alright, I picked up a set of these http://www.totalmobileaudio.com/products_components.php?speaker_id=431 BNIB for $50 and I plan on installing them in to my 2005 Liberty. As far as I can tell I do not have the premium speakers. I plan on doing a simple install with out drilling any holes...

    Installation has begun!

That switch on the crossover is used to control the tweeter volume. If the tweeter is too loud, set to -3db. If it's too quiet, set to 3db. If it's just right, leave at 0.

    Burnt out bulb

Got it changed. I was able to stick my hands through the hole in the bumper. Wasn't that hard to do. I could see this being a problem if you have large hands and/or forearms.

    Burnt out bulb

I just noticed I have a burnt out bulb on my 2005 Liberty. It's the front driver side one on the bumper. How exactly do I go about changing this? Here is a pic for reference. Hopefully I don't need to remove the inner wheel well liner. Thanks.

    Oil leak

Looks like the filter was a tad loose. I was able to turn it about an 8th of a turn quite easily. I was able to run my finger around the oil sender and not find any traces of oil. Thanks, I checked around the PCV valve area and it's nice and clean. There is a fair bit of wet oil in the...

    Oil leak

Today I just noticed that I have an oil leak around where the oil filter goes. My oil level isn't down much if any at all so I think this leak just started. The past couple of days have been cold...-40'c to be exact. I'm guessing (hoping) the oil fllter seal is leaking. My question is, is there...
