I know they wear out at about this mileage. I was just curious as to why it cracked when they aren't supposed to crack. The guy at napa was kind of surprised when I showed him my old belt.
I just replaced my serpentine belt because it was severely cracked. There were vertical cracks 1/8" apart all around the ribbed side of the belt. I thought the OE belt was not supposed to crack? It only had 91,000km on it.
Not trying to argue with you but why is having a larger alternator wire bad? It's not like a larger wire magically generates more power. All the larger wire is supposed to do is offer a less resistive path. I figured the alternator wire is it's original size because it's the bare minimum that...
Forgot to mention it but I have done that already. 0 gauge going from + to alternator terminal, - going from batt to alternator bolt, - going to chassis. That actually helped the dimming a fair bit.
I have 1/0 going from mono amp to ground point (bare metal on floor). #4 going from 4 channel to same ground point as mono. With the Liberty being unifram, I doubt this is an adequate grounding method for the current I am drawing. I'm also sure this is also why my battery posts corrode so...
Kenwood KIV-700 head-unit - This is a cd-less unit so it likely draws less current than stock.
Rockford Fosgate p4004 100 watts x 4 - has 2 30 amp fuses
Rockford Fosgate t40001bd ~4600watts x 1 - has 2 300 amp fuses
Wiring is KNU Kollosis 100% OFC 1/0 from batt to mono amp
#4 rockford fosgate...
Those Odyssey batteries look nice. I take it I would need the 34R-PC1500. Looks like there is an Odyssey dealer a few hours from me. Would you happen to know an approximate cost on a pc1500?
I am in need of more power for my stereo system. In the car audio world, most people tend to...
Does anybody have any experience with one of these? https://www.dcpowerinc.com/alternators/jeep/1999-2006-jeep-grand-cherokee-4-7v8-260-amp-high-output-alternator-29.html
They claim it's a direct bolt-on and compatible with the PCM controlling the alternator.
Thanks for the info. I think I'm just going to pick up an AGM battery next week. All I can find is a 78DT sized AGM battery. Will this fit? The store that carries this claims it won't fit my 2005 Liberty. The battery I have now is a 34/78DT so I don't see why a plain 78DT won't fit...
Last year when I bought my Liberty I went out and bought a new battery. Every 6 weeks I need to clean off the corrosion from my battery cables and battery posts. They become covered in a white/green powder. I might know what is causing the corrosion but I want to ask here just to make sure...
Had my rotors replaced 3 times last year. I had taken the Jeep in to the dealer because of vibrations in the steering wheel and also for an intermittent squeak. They replaced all the rotors and all was good for a few weeks. Problems came back. Replaced rotors again. A few weeks later...
Ooops, let me clarify. I was looking a deadening my doors because my 6.5" mid-bass drivers in the doors don't output much bass. They sound hollow. I've read that deadening the doors could help this.
Anybody here sound deaden their doors in their Liberty? Does it make much of a difference in sound? I'm not going to bother deadening my doors if it doesn't help the sound at all.
OK disregard my previous post. I exchanged the component set for a new set and now everything is good. The reason why I wasn't getting a negative speaker connection on both doors was because both of the pins for those 2 wires came loose in my radio harness adapter. Also, when I reinstalled...
Well, got everything installed. Turns out I have a bad tweeter. I had to rip everything out and it's going back tomorrow.
I'm was also getting no sound in the door woofers. I had sound on the passenger side tweeter (drivers side tweeter is bad). Tweeters are connected directly to the cross...
I am in need of a clip for the trim that goes around the radio and has the HVAC control. I had a bunch of wires back there for my stereo and managed to break off one of the clips because it wasn't lined up with the hole properly. Does anybody know a part # for these? I can't find anything on...
Finally got my jeep back. They did an excellent job repairing it. No more squeaks and rattles from the tailgate anymore. The total invoice from the autobody was just under $11,000.00. I'm not exactly sure why it wasn't totalled off but I didn't question it.
I started to install my new...
