What kind of flares are these?

Freedom Edition Those are the Freedom Edition flares. They're painted gunmetal, which is slightly different from the graphite paint on the Renegade wheels and Rocky Mountain Edition/ Columbia Edition tires. Like all trim packages on the earlier years, it's based on the sport option, but...

    Vaccuum hose keeps splitting

Brakes That came straight from the 2004 Jeep Liberty service manual. But your lines have obviously been opened if the brake fluid is brown. It's either mud or rust. If it's mud, it obviously came from the outside. Rust can come from inside the system, if oxygen is available. Both scenarios...

    Hydrogen generator in the KJ

It violates the fundamental laws of physics. There is no way this will ever work on any scale. You break the hydrogen oxygen bond, only to ignite it and recombine it? This is a 0 net gain reaction, and since nothing is 100% efficient there will be some loss. Essentially you'll convert (energy...

2004 Stock / OEM Stereo / Radio options

Navigation There aren't really a lot of navigation options for the KJ. You can get 1 DIN units that have a retractable screen. Chrysler used the 1.5 DIN opening for their stock radio and most in dash navigation systems are 2 DIN. So if you want navigation, you're stuck with the stock unit...

Any one have a parts list ?

Parts Is he sure he can order them? I've gotten as far as having parts and prices before only to find out they couldn't order them because of my VIN being domestic. You may need to add some kind of lights to the spare tire cover, to light the license plate. That's a must have in the states.

Any one have a parts list ?

Keep us posted Keep us posted on what you find out. I'd definately be interested in a bumper, spare tire cover, and the side chrome moldings that say Cherokee instead of Liberty. Maybe we can get some kind of group buy going, or work something out with some Aussie members that want some stuff...

Any one have a parts list ?

Parts Nope, I've already tried to roder them in the US. You have to find an import dealer, is the answer I keep getting. Your best bet is to find one of our overseas members who is willing to ship. But it would be EXPENSIVE, I bet it would be over $1000 and maybe closer to $1500 with shipping.

"Pass Airbag off" at the right front of my Liberty is always on

My 38 pound dog can set it off. When I was in school my bookbag set it off, I know I wasn't carrying 100 pounds on my back, I also figured it weighed closer to 30 pounds. So I'm guessing the reason mine is going off has more to do with pounds per square inch, as oppsed to total weight. The dog...

    Opinions please

5 tire rortation Rotation in the spare will increase the number of miles you can go on a set of tires, but it also increases the size (and therefore price) of the set from 4 to 5. You'll be paying the exact same price per mile, if you're doing a 4 tire roatation, and just replacing 4, or you're...

    Seat belt removal

Seat belt You'll need to remove the plastic panelling in the cargo area on that side first. Then seat belt is attached to the side of the vehicle and to the floor, where the seat mounts. I believe you'll just need a large diameter socket, maybe a large Torx bit. And that's it, pretty simple...

"Pass Airbag off" at the right front of my Liberty is always on

Light The light is supposed to come on when there is something less than 40 pounds in the seat, but not empty. There is an air bladder inside the seat that senses the pressure from the weight. The is either something wrong with your wiring, or the air bladder.

    Vaccuum hose keeps splitting

Answers Only certain width tires are recommend for rims of a certain width. However, you're not limited to just one tire size. You can go as tall as you want, so long as they don't rub. You can't go much bigger than 245/70/16 without some rubbing issues. Changing your tire size will affect your...

    Hydrogen generator in the KJ

PhD's Doctors are just like any other group of people, a few winners and a whole bunch of losers. A lot of people with PhD's have gone straight through school, and have no real world experience other than a classroom or lab setting. The only reason to get a PhD is if you have an interest in...

    Hydrogen generator in the KJ

My Rant You're way off track with a lot of your comments. First off, the grid, in all areas, can't handle the increase capacity that plug-in electric hybrids would generate. For example, remember the rolling blackouts, or brownout in California a few years ago? I do, I was living there...

Renegade Lightbar, Dash Indicators with a twist

MPG's My mileage went down by 0.2 mpg after installing the lightbar and Renegade basket. The wind noise has gone up quite a bit. But the few times I've actually needed (I use it more than I NEED to), has made it worth every penny.

    New Brakes for the KJ

Parts Yes, that's the part number only available from dealerships. I assume you guys have some type of auto parts stores over there? We have Advanced Auto, AutoZone, Pep Boy and Napa over here. Just go in, tell them what you're looking for and the should be able to find the parts from several...

    front brake vibration

Bearings Have you checked the wheel bearings? My mom's Grand Cherokee had a similar problem, I took it to have the rotors replaced, and they said it was a wheel bearing. They replaced it, and problem solved. The probelm does sound like warped brake rotors. Did they check the master cylinder?

    Check your spark plugs

Plugs I've got the NGK Double Platinums in mine and that's the way it came from the dealer. When I took it in for the 60k service, I asked about changing them and they told me it was a 90,000 mile plug. My mileage is good, so I left them alone.
