What about the spare?
You do have 5 of the same tire right?
If you have been rotating 5 then you are S.O.L.
If you have been rotating 4 then move 1 of the 3
old ones to the spare and keep 2 old on one axle and 2
new on the other
The reason why I only rotate 4 on my TJ
Well I am lazy too
Not to rain on your prade but the KJ like the XJ is unibody
Thus no frame it is built like those "car frame" vehicles you
don't like
Yeah it is front engine rear drive but not body on frame
If you want an mid sized SUV that has a frame then all
you have are Nissan (pathfinder and xterra)...
I built my own trans skid out of 3/16 and reenforced it with
1/4" thick 1"X1" angle running front to back
The Mopar version is junk
The Mopar x-fer case and fuel tank are made the same as the
skids they put on the TJ and JK as far as materials
The engine skid is or was also a good heavy pcs
The KJ is fine for mild to moderate trails with a lift and 245/75's
But if you don't have skids and hooks get them first
Then lift it and bigger tires
Then put a locker out back
My TJ is by no means a DD
It will how ever drive 200 miles or more to the trail
I have 5 of the exact same tire and do my best to
rotate in the spare 5k miles a years means I only
have to do it once a year
If I blow a tire after 1/2 tread wear I buy 2
Keeping the new tires on the same axle and...
Well I like the idea of smaller but that is all I like
We all know it will have independant suspension
which ,like it or not, does not do well off road and
is a pita to lift
The new wranglers are to big some times
even the 2 door version is to wide for older trails
I parked my TJ next to a JK...
I will be putting the 2wd low on my TJ when I swap the ARB
that is up front for a Detroit locker
This way I can run most of the time in 2wd and put it in 4wd
when I need to
This will allow me to still make tight turns but have a near fail
proof locker up front
Well I know I am late but for anyone else that is looking
at rear LCA bushings and shop labor for install
Look at the LCA's from Rustys offroad
I have abused mine for over 6 years still in good shape
They are 10X as strong as the stock arms
and at a cost of $170 for the pair they are a good...
It will depend on the type of lift
and the back spacing on wheels
I ,as well as many many others, have fit 245/75's
on stock wheels with nothing more than OME
coils and shocks
Very long tread wear = very hard tread compound
Very hard tread = poor traction ,even more so when cold
Poor traction = bad
I will watch but there is nothing for you to teach me
I already know
