It may just be my cynical nature, but no matter where the hinges are on any door I spend a lot of time wondering if they would be better on the other side. :D -

^ That is my feeling as well. Keep in mind that 99% of the Wrangler drivers out there probably have no idea what it means. (And Willys never made any Wranglers, for that matter.)- profdlp

Dashboard beeps
Have your battery tested. We've had others who had random weird alerts and many of them were caused by battery issues. Let us know what you find. :)- profdlp

One thing I can't emphasize enough is to do very light coats of the Plasti Dip. The first coat should look like a light film of dust. The second coat should look just a bit "dustier". It is tempting to just glob it on there and get it over with but I don't think it would adhere as well.- profdlp

Plasti Dip details were here: Dipped The Tires I did not take any pictures while applying it. Do a search and you can find some from other people - that's where I saw the "deck of cards" trick to save time masking.- profdlp

I made sure they were clean. It's been ten years but I think I just scrubbed them down and then wiped them off with some rubbing alcohol. I know I did not go to any great lengths to do a lot of prep work. It is such an easy job that I figured I'd just give it a shot and re-do it if I made too...- profdlp

I used Plasti Dip on the wheels and it has held up very well. I just masked the rims off but some people use a deck of cards slid in around the rim which may be easier. One thing I forgot to do was to wrap some lug nuts (old ones if you have them) in masking tape and lay them in the rim to...- profdlp

Surprisingly not slippery. They have grooves from one end to the other. Oh, and the roof rack is new as well. The old one gave me ten years of faithful service but was really piling on the rust.- profdlp
