Few more questions from the FNG Jeep'er...

For storage, I got a tote with a lid, and a small ratchet strap, put Jumpy cables, and a few other things in it, and used the tie downs in the back to keep it in place. Thought I had a pic, can't find it. For the trans, I wouldn't spend the money on a flush. Just get the SeaFaom cleaner, run it...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Finished the new rad hose install, and filled it with Zerex G-05. Fired it up and it went fast idle, then settled around 2k. Not sure what to do next. Had battery disconnected, didn't think I touched the skinny pedal, but maybe. Disconnected it again, waited 30 min, started it, and 2k...

What did you do to your jeep today?

That's about what they cost me, $31 & $44 with free shipping. Most of the local parts stores, (AutoZone, Advance, NAPA, Orielly's) didn't even have a listing, or had to order it. If I gotta wait, I'll order it online, shipped to my house, and probably cheaper! The 4cyl is only in 6% of Jeeps, so...

What did you do to your jeep today?

I finally found radiator hoses for my 4cyl. Talked to my buddy at the Dodge stealership, "$135ea:favorites68:", "not in stock", "not available", "contact vintage parts"!?!?!?! He gave me some part numbers, and I crossreferenced them on a couple sites until I found Continental (Good Year) part...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Finished the timing belt, and even got the valve cover gasket done. :mexsmoke: Had to remove the entire intake. It's supposed to split apart, but I couldn't find out how. The gasket kit even comes with upper and lower gaskets. Started it up for a couple minutes, just to make sure it would. No...

    Help! Removing intake on 4cyl.

I need to remove the intake on the 2.4l to get at the valve cover. Does the intake split, or do I have to remove the entire thing? All the way down to the injectors.

What did you do to your jeep today?

I STARTED replacement of the timing belt and water pump. Who knew it would be so hard to get at the bolts on a 4 cylinder? It's apart right now, I'll get the parts swapped in the morning. then put it back together. While it's in the garage I'm going to change the valve cover gasket too, it...

    Moving backwards uphill

It's normal for almost every unmodified, automatic trans vehicle. It's so you don't have to stand on the brake at every stop to keep from creeping ahead. Just imagine what would happen when you're facing downhill. Solution is as posted, just give it a little gas while holding the brake and...
