    4.10 Re-gearing - 2025

Just drive it easy for the first 500-1000km. You are pretty much allowing time for the gears to mesh and work their pattern in. Change real oil around 500-1000km, and add lsd additive if applicable. fronts will just hang out and work in slower, but think of it as a brand new vehicle. Those gears...

Controversia Lubrication fluids for Giddyup …. Need advice … PLEASE and Thank you !!!

So you would fall under cold climate. Often there will be a temperature chart listing the temperature range and the appropriate viscosity. Have a look and see if one is available for the engine in service info. It will give you optimum efficiency and lubrication based on the temps . -1 to 6...

Controversia Lubrication fluids for Giddyup …. Need advice … PLEASE and Thank you !!!

If you live in cold climate you will want the 5w40. 15w40 might flow too slowly and could give poor lubrication in cold starts conditions and possibly less fuel economy until it warms up. Hot viscosity is the same. Also because diesels have a high pressure fuel pump and the extreme pressures...

    4.10 Re-gearing - 2025

My rear lsd came with two sets of bolt holes, metric and not. I used the powertrax clutch lsd on the rear. Actually come to think of it, that was actually my pinion ring that had two sets of holes PowerTrax LS308229 Grip LS Limited Slip

    Jeep KJ Howling/Droning Sound

My rear diff and my nieces rear diff make the same noise. I replaced the bearings and there was no change in the noise. I've heard a couple customer cars with the same diff make that noise. If it doesn't sound similar to a bad wheel bearing and fluid is good, then I would keep running it as is...

Try using a stethoscope and see if it is coming from top or bottom.

    Overheating with AC on

I would check and make sure the fan is coming on. They may have unplugged it to get to the AC compressor, it's unlikely, but they may have. Next I would like to know if your reservoir is pressurized (called a surge tank but not an important detail) or if it's just a normal reservoir. The...

Wipers, Radio, and A/C Clutch All Dead — Plus Odd Accessory Mode Behavior

Turn wipers on, tap the wiper motor with a screw driver or whatever(doesn't need to be hit too hard). If it starts moving then replace it.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Went to costco, didn't fight for parking, park as far away as possible, walk across lot all faster than waiting and using precious sanity...... whats left. Bought a bunch of stuff I didn't plan to get for lunches because I'm feeling lazy and don't feeling like preparing food. I didn't get the...

Wipers, Radio, and A/C Clutch All Dead — Plus Odd Accessory Mode Behavior

Ground for the radio/hand free module is at front centre of driver seat. Not saying this is your problem, but the grounds aren't far from each other, so I would investigate common points, then work your way back.

Wipers, Radio, and A/C Clutch All Dead — Plus Odd Accessory Mode Behavior

I suggest looking at a wiring diagram for each system (component) affected and see what they have in common. Computers on these are not overly expensive (not when compared to any modern vehicle computer, new vehicle payments...... or headlamps with LED's.......5k range CAD), so I wouldn't get...

    Radio Speakers Kinda Meh

This is a great write up and definitely some great take aways from it. A lot of it makes sense, but important to read.

    Radio Speakers Kinda Meh

Defenders while under their AT line, are what we call a highway tire. Defenders are a good tire. We put a fair number of them on commercial vehicles.

    Radio Speakers Kinda Meh

Tires are about 50% of the noise. They are Duratracs. There was always a fair amount of road/wind (mostly road)noise, tires made it worse and no I'm not changing tires. They are a good all around tire for winter conditions (they stopped my vehicle in a freezing rain storm out near hope when I...

    Radio Speakers Kinda Meh

I find myself needing to turn up my volume more and more, this is due to a few factors, such as noisy tires, wind noise, etc. Speakers are stockish. I know for sure the RF speaker has been replaced, screw fellow out and I riveted it in place. It has crackled on and off over the last three years...
