Hello all,
I Have a 2002 VIN "K" Jeep Liberty Limited the the 3.7L V6. It fractured a Lash Adjuster boss allowing the lash adjuster to leave home and drop the rocker.
None the less I need to replace the head. Can anyone tell me where on the head (right side) did they hide the casting numbers?
Currently running on 5 cylinders, no intake valve operation in #2. So I unplugged the #2 injector and currently still driving it as I need to work.

Looking from the front of the vehicle the casting number should be just to the right of the oil fill tube - I can see and read mine but that's likely an area that will get covered in grime over the years. You might need to do some cleaning.

I'd be concerned about plugging your catalytic converter (which could lead to piston ring damage and catastrophic engine failure) - If the fuel isn't igniting you might be pumping raw fuel from that dead cylinder into the cat. As a precaution I'd unplug the electrical connector to the fuel injector on that cylinder before driving it any more.
