What did you sell or trade to get your KJ?

Traded in a 2012 Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab. Was a pretty sweet truck. Black, 5.3L V8, Z71 package with 4x4 and a rear G-80 auto-locker and 4.10 gears. Pretty much would go anywhere you pointed it as long as you had the ground clearance.

It was a nice truck, but it didn't really fit my needs and the payment was starting to cause problems. I do miss the V8 power, though.

Had an 05 Kia Sportage 5spd 4 cylinder awd. Had 187000km. It was a good vehicle, but couldn't catch a cold in it. Needed the V6 model. I thought it got poor milage until I got the Liberty. Now I think the Sportage was a smart car in comparison! Love my Liberty but wish it could pass just one gas station!

we saved up for a down payment, my wifes old worn out '92 Subaru Legacy (4x4) died on a friday, (we know it was about done for with 380,000 miles) she said we would have something by monday, and not one to argue with my wife, we took the money we had saved up and went shopping that weekend, she found the Liberty, liked it, and said, "this is the car I want" so we bought it.

she still won't let me drive it, and I don't think that's fair, but she's at least let me work on it - I got all sorts of ideas of things I'd like to do to it - lift kit, body armor, ect, but she's kinda short, and don't want anything she has to climb into, I really want to buy her a ladder, that would solve everything.

we are a 4x4 family, we don't own anything that's not a 4x4

added to the stable, and it is our second jeep!

2003 Altima for $3k then rolled that into this 04 Libby

Daughter totaled out her 04 TJ so the 06 KJ was supposed to be her replacement. She decided she liked my 00 XJ instead so I'm driving the KJ.

After spending a lot of money making this Vette faster, I sold it and got the KJ. People thought I was crazy but I'm happy with my decision.

2001 Chevy Astro Van

Yep, I'm going to sell my Astro Van. After having it for 10+ years. I put in so much hard work customizing the interior. It was a cargo van that I turned into a camper van. It had complete brake failure while driving home from work. Some lady pulled right in from of me, and I slammed on the brakes. The anti-lock brakes kicked in for a few seconds, the next thing you know, I'm skidding sideways, trying to avoid a collision with the lady. I came within a foot of crashing into her. But the old instincts took control, and I was able to counter-steer the van, and swerve around her. The "Brake" warning light came on the dash. And coming up to a red traffic light, the brake pedal went to the floor.
Somehow I managed to stop. But after I pulled the van into a parking lot, I had nothing, absolutely no brakes at all. I used my emergency brake to stop it!
Here I had burst 2 metal brake lines, and lost all my brake fluid. Oh what a day!
I had it towed home. And I then started ripping out all my hard work, all the electronics, auxiliary battery, power inverter, and lot's of other stuff.
I'm not going to sell the van with all the "stuff" I put into it. I got the brake lines replaced. And I'm done with it. It will be for sale soon. My Jeep is my new project.

Sold for KJ

Sold my 2000 Explorer (206K) and got the 07 Sport.

Not as much room, but it looks a lot better (LOL).

Got it in April, and have finally collected everything I need for a full maint. go through. All fluids, plugs, PCV valve, alternator belt, air filter. Just have to plan a full day to do it!

Already did the chain link cross rails. Thank you guys for that info!
