Bad heating issue (sorry for another thread!)

Well luckily my uncle has worked on cars for 30 years and he's the one who has been pretty much troubleshooting everything. I've just been watching, have to learn somewhere. But he'll be the one doing everything. All I'll have to do is buy the heater core! haha I'm also a big fan of learning...

Bad heating issue (sorry for another thread!)

Hmm...well i guess given everything that we've done i just will have to wait until summer and do the job and a half that is replacing the heater core. Probably take a couple days of leave to do that haha one last question though, can somebody explain how the tstat works then, if the top hose is...

Bad heating issue (sorry for another thread!)

Well i mean we replaced both the thermostat and coolant temp sensor so.... haha and i drive from cape may, nj to syracuse, ny (350~ish miles) with no issue. Temp has been sitting around the middle in both hotter weather in fall and colder weather before and after the new tstat and ect. Maybe...

Bad heating issue (sorry for another thread!)

UPDATE: So, took another shot at it. The thermostat is good, the original thermostat we decided to test too and that was good. They weren't the issue. The water pump is good to go, the impeller and everything is good and works. Newest thought though, the fan. Obviously the purpose of the fan...

Bad heating issue (sorry for another thread!)

I know the thermostat is in the correct way, it's definitely facing into the block and i know that the bleed hole is also facing the correct way up because there was a specific way it would only fit into the hose with a small grooved part. But I'll be able to double check it once I see this...

Bad heating issue (sorry for another thread!)

Another question...which radiator hose is which? Is the bottom hose with the thermostat the discharge from the block to the radiator and the top hose the discharge from radiator back into the block, or vice versa? Because after driving and my jeep warming up and temperature gauge sitting at...

Bad heating issue (sorry for another thread!)

Well, I suppose I'll have to pick up a water pump and go that route and hope that the impeller has been just been damaged and we used non-HOAT after flushing and cleaning everything out. It took alot to clean out all the brown and muck, but now the coolant actually looks like coolant..granted...

Bad heating issue (sorry for another thread!)

From everything i've read from the countless threads and the shop manual i have, nope. Whole dash must be removed, all you can check besides that is the supply and discharge hoses, but that's about it..please correct me anybody else if i'm wrong!

Bad heating issue (sorry for another thread!)

Could somebody explain where the water pump would integrate into the cooling/heating system? (My uncle is mainly the one troubleshooting for me) If the water pump does happen to be going, working poorly, maybe grudged up etc etc... wouldn't I notice signs of overheating? Thank you! p.s it...

Bad heating issue (sorry for another thread!)

Yes the stuff was pretty bad. Brown and nasty with some buildup, but we completely flushed the system and we have good flow coming out of the heater core lines from flushing and back flushing it multiple times, i imagine if it was clogged still we wouldn't get good flow, correct? Also, prior to...

    Hey there from ny/nj

Hi everyone, just this past week picked up an '02 liberty 3.7L V6 w/ 63k on her. She's bare bone stock right now and will try and just add little touches as I go. I.e roof rack, flood lights, front brush guard/bar. Any other little suggestions for accessories/improvements just comment! Have to...
