I appreciate the replies. I got the Jeep back yesterday after it being away 5 weeks. It is what it is at this point. So far so good. I do have a 3 year 36k mile nationwide warranty for whatever that's worth. I haven't used a normal mechanic in many years, but I haven't done a clutch in a few...- typ0

Sorry for the newb questions. If both the flywheel and clutch are replaced together, does it still need to be a curved flywheel? Or can it be flat? Is there an easy way to tell if the correct flywheel was used? What would the symptoms be if it was wrong?- typ0

My thoughts as well. Would that be the old flywheel, the new flywheel, or how the new flywheel compares to the old flywheel? I'm hoping that if they look the same I'll be ok. But that's all hope, no facts to back it up.- typ0

Hi All. I have a 07 with the manual trans. It has around 100k and I've put about 17k on it. It started making noise when it was cold and I brought it in to have the trans rebuilt and clutch replaced. I called the local 4x4 place and a transmission shop and they both referred me to a trans shop...- typ0
