    Cylinder 4 Coil Fault - P2311 / P0304 / Replacement PCM

Good luck. Just make sure the PCM part number matches and that they program your VIN.

    Cylinder 4 Coil Fault - P2311 / P0304 / Replacement PCM

Don't be too crazy about checking the wiring. We always hope that's the problem but it usually isn't.

    Cylinder 4 Coil Fault - P2311 / P0304 / Replacement PCM

I'm writing from memory here as the transmission blew later and I no longer have the car. I recall that it is the ground to each coil that is pulsed by the PCM. I found a test light more usable than a meter, since these digital meters have delayed readings. If you ground one lead of your...

    Transmission Dies After 1st Gear

The only error codes tell me that it's in the wrong gear for the speed, etc... I'll try to dig deeper into it with Jeep transmission codes, but I don't expect much.

    Transmission Dies After 1st Gear

Well, that's it. The 2005's transmission finally died with 170,000 miles of city driving. Still strong in first and reverse. As soon as it tries to shift into 2nd, it loses it all and goes to neutral. Then you have to turn off the ignition and turn it back on the get first gear again, and...

    liberty window regulator

There's lots of Chinese garbage out there. I've replaced a half dozen of these window regulators on two Libertys. The real junk lasts a month. Look for a name brand if you can. It may last 18 months then.

11 miles per gallon.....it's not good, but is it bad?

"City Driving" figures depend entirely on traffic. Were you stopped at lights 50% of the time? Were you accelerating to 50 and then slaying on the brakes every tenth of a mile? Really can't tell anything by comparing your city and driving with someone else's city and their driving.

    KJ general reliability information

I've had several with mileage of 150K miles. Nothing but routine problems and rust. I've had rust problems in New York with transmission cooler lines and shift cable linkage. I've also replaced several power steering pumps, water pumps and radiators. Otherwise the 3.7and its trans are strong...

    CEL - Cylinder Misfire

If you checked the two wires feeding the coil for continuity and grounds, and you had no other codes, and the new computer worked, you should have been fine. When replacing the PCM in these Jeeps you need the *exact* part number of the original (except for the two-letter date code). Lots of...

    CEL - Cylinder Misfire

I had a permanent #4 miss P0304 and Coil Secondary Failure P0354. Switched plug and coil to another place and codes and miss remained on #4. Coil had been wet from leaking coolant earlier. Checked the wires from the coil. One lead is hot with ignition on, the other is pulsed ground from the...

    Cylinder 4 Coil Fault - P2311 / P0304 / Replacement PCM

The overflow nipple on the 3.7 coolant reservoir broke and flooded my engine bay. A few months after the repair, I was getting a P0304 #4 misfire with a P2311 code for a bad coil. I removed the coil and found it wet. It was shorting out for quite awhile. So I replaced the coil and plug and...

    Power steering whine?

I've changed three of these. The hoses leak at the connections and the pumps sometimes go bad. I buy a rebuilt pump with reservoir and pulley. My 05's pulley would never come off in one piece. Don't even try. Spend the extra eight bucks. In 05 at least , there were two types of return...

    2004 Liberty Control Shift Cable

Check ebay. I bought one there last year. Also note that if the bushing in the end of it is worn out, the part that snaps over the stud in the transmission or shifter arm is replaceable. An aftermarket part is made for this and is available on Amazon and ebay. I used a replacement bushing in...

Is the high pressure steering hose on the '05 and '06 the same?

I had two '05's. Both had the same high pressure hoses. The low pressure hoses differed between them. One had an end on it, the other a spring clamp.
