Thanks all for the input!
I put new connectors in the female end of the pigtail, checked all the related fuses I could find, cleaned my battery terminals and the chassis ground connection. The terminals did indeed have a layer of green shmutz.
It's been about 100 miles and I haven't seen the...
Recently installed a new front right hub bearing assembly onto the '07, which was fine for about 100 miles. The bearing seems fine, but the ABS sensor keeps going off. At first it would intermittently drop out for a second or two, making the ABS/ESP/Parking Brake lights flash and the speedo dip...
You're spot on with the left side- the drip is coming from somewhere right above the drain. Some of the coolant is collecting at the bottom clip for the fan shroud. Is there anything to be done about a hairline crack shy of replacement?
Put on new brakes and rotors in the front today. Probably didn't really need new ones yet, but it's nice to learn something new and do it myself. Now to track down the slow coolant leak... can't keep the overflow bottle full, and the radiator stops dripping once it's empty.
An update from my end- I tried it again and attempted to KISS the issue. Redid the connections with new splices, plugged it back in.. and it worked! It took about 30 seconds of being on before the sound kicked in, maybe that's a quirk of the unit. Sound was great until I poked it a few times and...
Does having just the front end off the ground allow both ends (front diff and transfer case) to rotate? This is good to know for the eventual reinstall.
I am pleased to report that the driveshaft has been removed and the noise.. is gone! Pictured above is the T-case end of the shaft, which covered my face with rust when I finally yanked it out. The boot looks good on the diff side, but it might be worth my time to rebuild both ends before...
Thanks for the responses all. The snow is mostly gone from the driveway so I'll be able to get underneath and take a better look soon.
The issue being the driveshaft makes a lot of sense, seeing as the noise doesn't seem to affect my driving, but I know there's a more aggressive clunking noise...
With the weather getting nicer, I'm driving around a lot more with the windows rolled down; which means it's harder to ignore the scary noise I've been ignoring for a bit now...
I tried to get a recording of the noise but it's really only audible from the exterior of the car, or when the...
Finals for school caught up to me and I've just stuck the original stereo back in it. I've picked up a MIL again so that will take priority.... Just Empty Every Pocket!
I've got 4 extra 6Ω speakers and a pair of 8Ω. I can try direct wiring those.
Hey, I still think home stereo is a big deal! I'm very proud of my 7.2 surround made of a hodge-podge of Goodwill speakers.
As for the software issue, there's nothing I can do on the unit to 'switch' between the...
@DadOSix The head does everything but make sound when you plug it in. I tried wiring the ANT+ into the red wire at first. It doesn't give a current while the radio is running, just on power on/off. It's only on my harness, and I believe it's for raising and lowering a power antenna.
@profdlp...
Here's where we stand:
I found what appears to be the right pinout diagram for my radio, so I've double-checked that everything is plugged into everything.
I've found a few people online who fixed this issue by giving the amplifier (blue) cable power. There doesn't appear to be an amplifier in...
My electrical knowledge fails me more often than not.
I stuck my multimeter on the RR+/-, LF+/- etc terminals to make sure the head was actually outputting something. Should I be measuring for voltage here?
The label on this unit says 4~8 Ω and the manual says 4 Ω. The 6 stock speakers in the...
My '07 I recently picked up occasionally won't crank unless I push the gearshift firmly into Park. This has something to do with the interlock but it doesn't throw a code when it happens.
