I think you hit the nail right on the head with the load test. The battery voltage is fine at rest but not under load. I put my OBDII scanner on it and I saw two pending codes; P0700 and P0562. Nope. Remove the whole door panel to access the speakers. FWIW the silicone fixed mine permanently. I never had another problem with.

I heard the same thing, social I contacted our local Sewer Dept. and asked them what to do with it. They didn't know either. When I asked if it was safe to dump down the drain, I was told not to. I still have been able to find a place willing to take it.

Another thing you might want to consider is disposal of the old coolant. I couldn't find a place willing to take the used stuff even after contacting my local Dept. of Environmental Conservation office.

Yours has the 42rle. Sometime in '03 they phased out all the 45rfe's in favor for the 42rle's.
