I wasn’t able to find a shop to install before being out of state, so can’t comment yet. Has anyone else used Yukon rear gears or have a better option? From what I had read, not much difference between Yukon, USA Standard etc..- Rene_05

I have the Wildpeak AT4w in 265/75/16 on the stock 05 Renegade wheels, stock gears (dumb I know). The tires themselves are great, a lot quieter than expected. I might be thinking too hard about this, but just want to make sure I do it right. The gears in the front should be turning even if not in 4wd. Load is added when 4wd engaged (right?). How does it not create a problem if the rear is swapped to 4.10 before the front? Some of the break in should...- Rene_05

I thought some more about this and this is my current plan: Take the whole truck to a shop and have them rebuild the rear. Know a lot of folks go the junk yard route, but I preferred new. The rear gears seem readily available in a number of places. Thanks for the replies, I may look into at least pulling the diff out myself. I’ve had the whole front tore apart in the past for the lift, control arms, CVs, tie rods and wheel hubs, doesn’t seem like much more to pull the diff.
