re: J-Thompson What's up with the tude. I never said noisy was bad. Just letting the original poster know if he is replacing highway tires with the AT's, his wife will hear them.

    tires for stock DD KJ

re: j-rod I just put on a set of those Hankooks yesterday in a 245/70/16. $119 ea. They look and ride great on my moabs. A little noisier between 35 and 45 mph, but quiet on the highway.

    Finally. New treads.

I finally got rid of the factory GoodYears. These are the Hankook Dynapro ATM 245/70/16. Only slight touching on the front inside fender skirt at full turn, but even that will be gone next week when I install Boiler's top plates.

    Falken High Country A/T?

Hey guitarzan, Increasing noise and decreasing mpg would indicate that the shoulders are "feathering." You might want to look into an alignment and rotation. Just a thought.

    rubicon

The 225's are a bit thin (8.85in) for an 8in wide rim, but no problems mounting them. I would definitely not off-road them. 245's are scheduled on my September budget. :-) Until then it's a 6 mile daily commute to work and an occasional 25 mile trip to the beach.

New Liberty; I have an '06 with factory tires (225/75/16). I changed my factory steel rims to the Moab's and had no rubbing with this size tire. Any size wider or taller will rub, so I have done a clevis lift and bent down my pinch welds for my next set of tires.

Are these the Moabs I've been looking for?

True, but I gotta wear these tires out first.

Are these the Moabs I've been looking for?

No longer looks anemic. Amazing what a set of Moabs does for the overall look of the Liberty. If Chrysler put these on as "stock" rims they would have sold twice as many. They even make the factory 225/75's look good. Thanks to everyone for convincing me to go get these. Best $90 I...

Are these the Moabs I've been looking for?

Thanks all for the great advice. Tomorrow night I will be pointing my Jeep towards the desert with $90 in my pocket and scenes from "No Country for Old Men" playing in the back of my head. Wish me luck. :-) I will post a pic next week when I get them mounted.
