Would you buy your KJ again???

I have an '03 KJ Freedom Edition (bought in late '07 and it had only ~25k mi). I love how it looks, especially the rivet-look flares and grahite rims on the freedom edition. The tight turning radius is great too. The only thing I might have liked to change is the exaggerated bounce at city...

2003 Libby with U-Haul Trailer for Move

Yeah, I will need to plan my load better next time. Didn't feel like untying and retying stuff all over again. The trailer actually handled very well with the load, it was just huffing and puffing to maintain speed on slopes. I think it handled especially well given the wind conditions on Easter...

Weird mileage observations - and other questions

I have a '03 Jeep Liberty Freedom Edition that I bought in late '07. It has full-time 4WD (Selec-Trac) and renegade-style ground clearance, with 235/65R17 wheels. Its all stock - no mods. The previous owner (who bought it new) was a vet who only put 25k miles into it in the 4 years he had it...

    Ride too bouncy?

I did do a test drive before I bought it. I was more focussed on how responsive the engine was and in testing the smoothness of the transmission. And it seemed pretty healthy! I definitely didn't expect a car-like ride, but its quite the opposite of the behavior you've described. It feels a...

    Ride too bouncy?

That's exactly how it feels. And its that way on almost all roads. I did a stretch of brand new really smooth tarmac on the highway once and there was hardly any wobble. But almost everywhere else there is. It generally doesn't feel too bad at highway speeds, but below 45MPH, it does feel a bit...

    Ride too bouncy?

Yeah, I must do that. I do make it a point to watch other liberty's when they're running alongside, but they don't seem to wobble as much as mine, not that mine wobbles too much. They've all been newer versions though, and I haven't seen any 17 inchers yet. I did see a couple of old durango's...

    Ride too bouncy?

Its definitely not a harsh hit! It doesn't really need a speed bump to wobble. It does it on most roads. Its not really too bad, but the slight side-to-side rocking motion is pretty apparent. It gets more pronounced when I'm braking to a stop. I did expect a jeep to be harsher than a car...

    Ride too bouncy?

I thought so too! They didn't feel too bad to me, though the foot travel in the brake pedal was kinda long. But they did work. The foot travel is definitely a lot less now, though its still a bit more damped than I would expect a new set of brakes to be! Perhaps its the weight.

    Ride too bouncy?

Well, I wasn't able to bounce it too well, but it made just one small extra bounce before it stopped, so I guess it passes. The reason I asked about the tires is because I read elsewhere that people got more comfortable rides when they replaced the stock goodyear wranglers. I wouldn't exactly...

    Ride too bouncy?

Hi, I recently bought a pre-owned 2003 Jeep Liberty with 25K miles on it. Its the Freedom Edition, and I absolutely love the looks of it. Unfortunately, the ride appears to be a bit too bouncy. It noticeably bounces from side to side on roads that look reasonably smooth, and it almost feels...
