Jeep Liberty CRD Engine Oil Cooler Torque Specs

That's WAY too much torque! I assume you just tightened by "feel". That oil coller is a POS. Mine leaked from the oil side into the coolant. I've eliminated the damn thing!

    Aircon' pipes

I also modified my HVAC controls, so the A/C doesn't run all the time. On mine I had to cut some traces on the HVAC control, and now I use the "snowflake" button on the left to turn the A/C on or off. Mine will only run the A/C with that button pushed in. I should post some instructions in a...

06 CRD air in filter (liftpump ?)

The E7181M Airtex fuel pump, it's a bit of work to pull your tank, and install this in-tank fuel pump. But it's like factory when all is done. The power wires are already there at the tank for you to connect to. Jeep should have put this on as standard equipment.

    abs judder with no lights?

This happens on Chevrolet pickups very often. The KJ's ABS sensor is similar. The sensor is attached to the front wheel hub. It's held in place with a 6mm? allen head bolt. What happens is rust forms under the sensor, and pushes it out of the hole in the wheel hub. Now you end up not getting the...

How to add a simple electric fuel pump.

The in-tank unit E7181M Airtex fuel pump is more more money and work to install, but you end up with a nice factory fit, fuel pump. It's worth the extra money and effort. There's installation instructions on Lost Jeeps...

    Transmission Cooler Hoses

You may be able to replace the leaking section with some 3/8" ID hose and a couple of hose clamps. You must buy hose rated for use with oil/trans fluid. Regular rubber fuel line hose will not hold up to the trans fluid (it deteriorates rubber).

CRD timing tools to rent? Anyone? (Midwest)

Marc, The ****** cooler I have on my liberty is just an aftermarket tube and fin type about 9"x5" mounted in front of the radiator on the driver's side. It has hose barb fittings. These are available from flex-a-lite, or b&m, etc. Mine was installed because the factory cooler (which is part...

CRD timing tools to rent? Anyone? (Midwest)

Thanks for the reply. I have the cam locking pins. I did remove the cam gears. Used a homemade gear holder to break them free. That was the easy part, torquing them back down to 80ft lbs without them moving, and without the locator pins installed, is a whole lot a fun! Lots of swearing, but it's...

    Transmission oil type / grade

The Pennzoil syncromesh is a great manual transmission fluid, as is BG Syncroshift. Any good synthetic MT fluid will be fine. If we were talking about an automatic trans. I would say ONLY use the Mopar +4 ATF. There's a big difference between auto and manuals!

CRD timing tools to rent? Anyone? (Midwest)

CRD timing tools to rent? Nevermind, Got it done! Hello, I'm looking for someone to rent the VM1085 cam gear tool from. Seems that GDE is 5-6 week wait for their rentals. I would also consider buying the tool if anyone has one to sell... Thanks! Mike

    Vehicle shift!! HELP!!

I changed my game plan for this repair. Tomorrow I'm getting some Devcon Flexane 80 liquid urethane, and going to fill in my existing bushings with the stuff. I did some research, and the windshield stuff may work, but this Devcon is a little bit harder rubber. Specs say the 3m windshield...

    Vehicle shift!! HELP!!

Where did these Spicer bushings come from? I have replaced my lower rear control arms, and upper tri-link 7 months ago, and they're already worn out. Junk Chinese aftermarket parts! I'm looking for new, higher quality bushings to fill with urethane. I have my own press. Any part numbers? Thanks...
