I took the shifter off from the top. I can get right to the arm from inside. It moves but nothing changes. I even moved the lever with the jeep rolling. 4 low is where it stays. It won't come out

I tried that. The arm moves but it's stuck in 4 low

Would that be the arm that the linkage connects to?

I was driving my 03 limited when it made a grinding noise and wouldn't pull itself. Trailered it home and shifted the transfer case to the 4 high position and backed it off the trailer. There is no front drive shaft in it. Wasn't in there when I bought it. Now it seems to be stuck in 4 low but...
