    Bubbling Clear Coat?

I have several sections on our red '04 Sport 4x that are bubbling. Anyone else experiencing this? Warranty? If not, I'm going to wet sand it out, clear it and wet sand/polish. But, I don't want to... AJ

    Reupholstering My Seats

Cool...very cool. Thought about painting/dying the plastic on the bottom? You could either do RIT dye (in boiling water), or the duplicolor spray... AJ

    Chrome Grille Inserts

All of those pics show '02 -'04 libbies. Front turn signals on the front bumper, not on the front of the flare like the later models. AJ

Question about front axle boot replacement?

When I say this thing had a tiny hole...it was pretty small. The hole itself was on the first pleat facing towards the wheel. Just on the first vertical surface from the outer clamp. You could *MAYBE* fit the head of a #1 screwdriver through the slit, so this was in no way a "tear". In fact...

Jeep KJ Plastic Model Kits anywhere?

I got a thing for buying models of cars that I've owned. Haven't got around to this one yet...I just hate to open this box. Built this one for a buddy's dad who mentored us through life and autocross: That's his shop in the diorama. In high school, we painted every inch of that place...

Jeep KJ Plastic Model Kits anywhere?

Bit of a winter hobbyist here. I build probably 2 models a year and was wondering if anyone made a quality Jeep KJ plastic model kit. anyone seen one of these? If so, who'd the manufacturer? AJ:killit:

Question about front axle boot replacement?

With the fine instruction by ptsb5a (How To: on replacing the driver's axle seal) and at the suggestion of tjkj2002 (you'll have a mess and need some new brake parts), I tackled the boot this weekend. Since replacing my hubs last month, removing everything was fairly easy. The only hitch was...

Question about front axle boot replacement?

OK...it took 3 days for the damn boot to show up and now they don't have the clamp pliers. I think I'm just gonna wait until the joint starts making noise and replace the entire axle. I really wanted to DIY the boot, but this is they type of stuff that deflates the sails. Since the tear is so...

    OBDII software for PC?

Just got done building out a new laptop with ***-Com for my VW and was wondering if there is an OBDII software out there that would work on my '04 Libby? I'm using a 409.1 KKL cable. AJ

Question about front axle boot replacement?

yeah, well...unfortunately, in my situation, every 30 bux counts. For me, it's worth saving the 30 bux for another 1/2 hour of work. Plus, it's like penance since I caused the 1/4" tear when I replaced my front hubs. :) AJ

Question about front axle boot replacement?

Yeah, I guess that was the question. Some (like the VWs) the circlip goes into the joint, locking it from the inside...you whack the bell part of the joint to knock it apart. Apparently, these are different. AJ

Question about front axle boot replacement?

I need to replace the outer CV boot on the driver's side of my KJ. Just wondering if replacing the boots on these is the same as most vehicles where you cut the old boot off, then whack the joint with a brass or deadblow hammer to knock off the joint. Just wondering what to expect...

Thank you pts5ba and 1 question

OK...after being pissed...upset...embarrassed and basically just questioning my technical skills for the last 2 days, while gobs of green/gray goop flung itself in snot-sized projectiles all over the hub carrier, wheel well and control arms, I finally decided to do something. Anything!! So...

Thank you pts5ba and 1 question

Yeah...it sux. I knew the minute I saw it. But, I wasn't in a position to change it right there. Times are tight and doing the hubs already put me behind. I think the worse thing is the grease that came out was perfectly clear/white. AJ
