Mine has doen exactly the same thing for close to 2 years now. Only when it is below maybe 50 degrees. I have always wondered what it was but is goes away so I have never bothered to look at it.

My driver side rear window did the same thing for the first two years that I owned the jeep. Then one day the window regulator abruptly died, put in the aftermarket one and it has been quiet ever since.
