I twice replaced the TPMS sensors with aftermarkets and didn't last more than a year. The plus side of disabling the warning light with this method, is that you end up with a really neat scanner that can monitor a lot of stuff from your truck, besides just error codes.

I don't think so. It is encased in glass (like a camera lens), unlike a microphone that would have some kind of tiny perforations...but then again, I have no idea what it is, so it could well be a microphone.
Had the truck for a year and just noticed that the front dome lights panel has a circular black sensor (or whatever it is) on the corner. Anybody knows what this is for?
