How did you end up with your KJ?

Traded my LR Disco II for it, having recently checked KBB values I got the better end of the deal. NAS Discos are so computerized to pass emissions restrictions here, impossible to work on.

    CV axle

Maybe I'm confused by the term Intermediate Shaft, are you referring to the axle shaft that is supposed to stay in the axle housing or the shaft between the CV joints on the drive axle? Semantics?

    CV axle

Am I gonna have to crack diff to get axle to snap back in, currently won't snap back in by just pushing it in.

    CV axle

So, I need to buy a new axleshaft too? :favorites68:

    CV axle

So, when I pried right side cv axle shaft away from axle housing it pulled the axle shaft out of the axle housing, don't think it's supposed to. Do I have to open diff housing to properly seat the axle shaft via the snap ring? Popped right out, won't snap right back in.

    CV axle

tommudd thanks, I found my Chilton and it said to "pry" the shaft off with a pry bar or large screwdriver, similar to what you are saying, to pull it off. Sounds easy enough. These are the factory skid plates, and when I went to remove the front one under the front diff, rack & pinion, etc...

    CV axle

I need to replace outer boot or complete cv shaft on front right. How do I disconnect axle at differential? I have climbed all over the front replacing the hub, the upper control arm, lower ball joint, etc. Just can't see how the cv axle disconnects from the axle housing. Also, I had to drop...

Clanking noise in 4wd after replacing hubs

Nope, confirmed it is the drive shaft, cv joint at t-case connection is destroyed.

Clanking noise in 4wd after replacing hubs

Alright, tore driver's side down to hub, removed hub from knuckle and cv shaft to check proper fitment/installation, test drove and same issues, still no issues in 2wd. Sounds more like chain skipping.

Clanking noise in 4wd after replacing hubs

Alright, knew that, duh. If it's all spinning, why only while in 4wd and while turning. Not clicking like a bad CV joint, more like clanging like a bell, sounds like/acting like gears skipping.

Clanking noise in 4wd after replacing hubs

Yeah, jacked it up in center, both wheels in air, spun wheels, turned wheels. Just pissed off now, so close to end of projects and going 'wheeling.

Clanking noise in 4wd after replacing hubs

Okay, didn't consider that, but makes sense, doesn't help narrow issue down though. Ugh!

Clanking noise in 4wd after replacing hubs

Just replaced front hubs in 2006 Jeep Liberty and now it makes clanking noise while turning, left or right, when in 4wd, only while turning, quits after completing turn. Doesn't make noise in 2wd. By process of elimination, possibly something to do with CV shafts? Did I possibly separate one?

    Abs, esp/bas, tcs lights on

Yeah, I noticed that I had it in the wrong place, didn't realize I was in the How-To section when I started the thread. I have been to AZ and O'R here in Houston, TX, they don't have readers that can read ABS codes. It's either buy a code scanner/reader or take it to the shop. Don't know...

    Abs, esp/bas, tcs lights on

Alright, I know this has been discussed here before in length, yet I still find it ambiguous and hard to follow, most of the posts are old and don't seem to help resolve the issue. I have the ABS, ESP/BAS and TCS lights on. I have replaced all four wheel sensors, still lights are on, ABS pump is...
