    Back driver side brake grabs

Had the drivers rear caliper on my 05 libby lock up on me. Locked up so bad when I got out and looked the rotor was glowing red. Another thing I didn't think of at the time but happened a couple of days later when I fixed the caliper was that the tire blew...probably as a result of heating up.

How long will a typical Jeep Liberty engine last?

I've got 153K on mine now. Still haven't had one problem with the engine. Only problem I've had with the liberty was a stuck caliper on the rear. That's it. Hell, I've still got the original belt on still (got a new one in the back just in case.) This is by far the most robust/reliable engine...

    Time for an oil change...?

I've got over 150K on my 3.7 and have never used anything but 5w-30. I can't really see any advantages to running the 10w. I'd just stick to the 5w-30, you'll be just fine.

    Jeep Liberty Future?

"Say it ain't so, Joe, say it ain't so" That makes me sad to even think about it. With the economy the way it is, there's a lot of "fat trimming" going on, so who knows what's going to happen!

KJ owner needing peace of mind

Don't be worried at all about buying it. Like Hoosier says, you don't hear much about the people who don't have many issues on theirs. Wouldn't have a need for these forums if they all ran perfect. I'm in the exact same boat as Katmandu, however I have 150,000 miles. It has been the most...

    Speedometer question

The light bulb that lights up the temp gauge needle sometimes is out...all I have to do is lightly hit that side of the dash and it comes back on. (banan-hit)Just a tip.

    Rear Window Defroster Off

Yeah, that should work perfectly. I just made sure when I put it back together that the two surfaces were making contact also making sure that none of the weld got inside there. That's why I kept my meter handy so I could test the continuity once the adhesive started setting up.

    Rear Window Defroster Off

I haven't heard of it being an "official" problem but by looking at the design you can see it. The coiled wires get really stiff in the cold therefore reducing the length needed when opening the back window. Personally I don't think solder is the way to go on that type of connection anyway, it...

    Rear Window Defroster Off

I tried soldering it and it was a pain. I hate soldering above my head. Gravity and hot solder and human flesh just don't jive all that well. What I ended up doing was mixing up a little jb weld and cold welding it. I made a nice little mound over the part that attached to the window and it...

    100,000 mile, mile stone

I've got 145000 on my 05 3.7L and like a couple of other posts here, haven't had any major issues whatsoever. All I've done is regular maintenance such as oil changes, brakes, etc.. Only thing that had to be changed that was wearing out was a couple of tie rod ends. Other than that absolutley...

    Noisy power window

This issue has been driving me crazy for the last year. I have completly gone through and cleaned that damn seal and window numerous times, only for it to come back. I even took the door panel off once to get a better look at it. I really can't figure out a rhyme or reason as to when it happens...
