    Yet another Engine Swap

I would definitely look for a low mileage 3.7 replacement engine. Less hassle that way. I run two Liberty vehicles one for the winter and one for the summer. Luckily I found a parts Jeep with just over 140,000kms. I am trying to prolong my Renegade for as long as possible. Should be good...

    changing transmission fluid/filter

Hi, I decided to change the filter and fluid in my 2004 Renegade at under 180,000kms. Almost immediately the transmission wouldn’t shift up from first gear. I thought somehow I messed up. However, after shutting off the engine the transmission went back to normal. Two codes did come up, P0841...

Need help with driver side upper control arm

I put Anti-seize on my bolts. Why wouldn’t you? However, my Jeep is 18 years old. It isn’t likely to ever need another upper control arm.

Need help with driver side upper control arm

Yes, because I didn’t have a sawzall I had to use a hacksaw in my hand moving it back and forth about an inch at a time.

Need help with driver side upper control arm

Most likely you’ll have to cut the bolts off inside the wheel well. It took me about an hour and a half to do that. I had no reciprocating saw. But I have one now.

    Ideas for bolt removal

Not too bad if you have a reciprocating saw. It took me an hour and a half to cut two bolts off on an upper control arm. All I had was a hand held hacksaw blade. David

    Hello from Newfoundland and Labrador

Thank you! I only found this forum today. I have done work on the Liberty over the years naturally but the problem I have now is baffling. I am a car guy and belong to a couple of British car groups. I have three British cars and a few years ago bought a PT Cruiser because it looks like an...

Scraping noise in all 4x4 modes

Thanks! I jacked up the Jeep on all four corners and ran it in drive at idle speed in all modes. The sound starts at about 20kph, about 12 mph. I could not tell where the sound was coming from. I didn’t want to run it like that with no one in the driver’s seat. A helper would have been...

Scraping noise in all 4x4 modes

My 2003 Liberty with select trac is making a scraping noise when in all 4x4 modes. The Jeep was laid up for the winter and was only put back on the road last month. The sound is like the brake pads are worn out and scraping on the rotors but I know that is not the problem. Each mode is...
