Additional information if anybody is interested. I went ahead and built my 2002 3.7 back to factory. What I have found is, Pistons for all models are the same. They varied the compression slightly by changing from a d-shaped combustion chamber to a peanut shaped combustion chamber. It seems...
I did find it interesting that the later years they have more compression but it still made exactly the same rated horsepower. I didn't check in to see whether it helped fuel mileage. Probably isn't worth the headache, wasn't really thinking that the compression would bump it outside the...
I'm needing to rebuild my 2002 3.7 after dropping a valve seat. Not a lot of information out there but it seems that my unit had factory 9.0: 1 compression pistons. Is there any reason I cannot use the after 2005 Master rebuild kit to take advantage of the 9.6: 1 ratio? From what I have seen...
So I have drug my feet long enough, I didn't want to see all the posts about how this isn't properly to fix it, I have functional heat after kind of the same rigmarole. My 2002 3.7 doesn't seem to have enough pressure to circulate through the heater core unless at a higher RPM. I realize what I...
I would have to agree with Tom. I have selectrac, I just have not found a use for it yet. Possibly town driving at low speeds when you have snowpack and ice plus dry pavement in a stop and go situation. Definitely not something you want to use in the same conditions at highway speeds. I'm not...
Has anyone found any way to disable the auto lock? I am not above cutting a wire and putting in a toggle switch if needed. I would like it to be a reversible fix if it completely disables electric locks though.
I did the same, I like the look. I am so glad I spent a little extra money and went with 926 OME springs in the front. It gives it an amazing ride. I check my cattle with the 02 and some days it's more like a pre-runner lol. After reading through here I went with the lighter 926 instead of the...
I am fighting a plugged heater core, have flushed multiple times. I seem to get new chunks out every time I flush. I believe it may be coming from the engine after I replaced antifreeze with the correct type. I feel you may have a similar issue and are plugging the new core.
Do you mind posting a link on which Amazon clips work best to remount a front fender and wheel well liner? TIA
