How to upgrade exterior plastics/maybe Rhinolining?

The Line-X stuff looks interesting. What does something like that cost if you wanted to do the plastic surfaces?

to do it yourself it's pretty simple:

Pep boys: 1) Duplicolor BedArmor. not bedliner. Armor is
textured, Liner is smooth and not as durable. $12.00 US
(took about 5 cans for mine)

2) really fine sand paper or scuffing pad (looks like a large
brillo pad) $4-$5
3) Painters Tape (Blue)

Process: 1) remove fenders, bumpers, grill ect... (optional)
if not removing fenders and such this where the Painters tape
is used:doh2: (better to remove parts than mask off if possible)

2) scuff the parts no need to remove exist. paint/ finish
just need to get it scuffed so Bed Armor will stick.

3) wipe down parts.

4) spray parts with light coats to build up texture.
do not try to cover all of parts in first coat.:weld:
the Bed Armor will even itself out.

5) let dry for about 10min in between applications of
Bed Armor
6) after drying reassemble :happy107:

I got quoted $1000 to do all the plastics (front bumper, rear bumper, side skirts, side fill strips, fender arches... all removed from the jeep) and my backbone, done in shiney black with UV.

That seems like alot when you can doit yourself for 60-100 bucks and in 1 day maybe 2 depends on how you work :imo::grd:

the shop by me has a sample panel they invite people to smack with various tools, including the claw of a hammer. the metal will deform (dent) but the line-x won't chip/crack.

That looks about right for Line-X with the UV protection. It's not cheap to do, but the black Line-X with UV really holds up well for a very long time. Try to check out some of the work done by the shop before you give them your Jeep. Some shops are much better than others.

i had just finished letting the Bed Armor dry and this Ass hit my rear bumper
with his Toyota Tacoma. this is the damage no chiping or nothing just dented

Anyone bedlined the unpainted sport flares? Mine are looking kinda shabby. KJ is mostly used for mall crawling the last few years, so I am not overly concerned with how it'd hold up rubbing against trees and stuff.

Sure they have but you really have to scuff them up and prep them first or it won't stick good.
