What does trail rated mean?

My 06 Stock Sport has the trail badge on it. What does it do for me?

That is what Jeep defines "Trail Rated" as. Basically, it means it passes certain expectations Jeep has set for their vehicles offroad. IMO, it's more of a marketing gimmick.

Well my "Trail Rated" kj Limited came without:

A. Tow Hooks front or rear

B. Full Skids....just mickey mouse skids

Now in my opinion, this is not trail rated at all. Hooray for Jeep for selling a lot of Trail Rated Libertys by adding a $2 badge. (blarg)

OMG I just read that Trail Rated explaination ......ground clearance!!! BS!!! Ground clearance is the main reason I lifted mine in the first place. If you could have seen the small amount of hard pack snow I got stuck on with the KJ the first weeks I owned it, you would have been sick.

It means that your Jeep was built in 2004 or later.
