Well here we go again. I’m at my wits end with this Jeep. Now we have to get towed again. Was 65 miles out of town, had it dropped off at home.
The trouble started when it started running a little weird, less power. It was running sluggish. Then it just couldn’t make freeway speed on the on ramp. Really sputtering choking out jerking and this is about 35 mph. Ran steady at about 25 mph with no hesitation, so I just pulled off the road and no lights no over heating just no go. Called the tow truck went home, left it there a week because I was pissed at it!!! Now that I had a chance to use the scanner (a cheap one) I started it up and let it run for awhile, seem to run right and then got the code P0304. I shut it down. Moved the coil around to # 1, still got the code P0304. I checked the fuel pressure (it was good), pulled the plug and it was a little wet, replaced the # 4 plug. Restarted and it ran good for about 15 minutes, drive around the neighborhood to check the acceleration was a no go. Now it’s blowing smoke!!!
This is an engine that was bought last March 2017. I really hope the warranty is going to work, I have not done the compression test but I have the feeling this is going to be a remove and replacement of that engine. If I have to pay again, then it’s over for this Jeep!!!
2002 Jeep Liberty LTD. May be up for sale.
